Above; Kalmanda(Chloe)We sat at the bank of the Mali River with our heads on each other's shoulders. The breeze of the wind that blew towards us was tremendous... The sunset looked beautiful from afar.
We closed our eyes and took in a deep breath, and let it out "Doesn't life seem soo beautiful?" Kalmanda asked as she looked into my eyes. I just ignored and lied flat on my back as the grass prickled it.
"You wouldn't know how long you'll have it." I replied after slowly raising my body.
With that we burst into laughter. We hurried home before the sky darkened.
At home...
We set the table up for dinner. And hurried off to change into our sleep suits.
As we sat at the table Romano and Jeffrey made fun with their food. We chatted, laughed made jokes and fussed about our day.
We watched a movie, played board games ...had our prayer and went to bed.
The next day...
We packed up for school, the lights were out.
Kalmanda had a fever and was unable to go to school.
At school....
"Alright class you have just fifteen minutes to complete this pop quiz." Our teacher Miss Poppins said briefly as she handed our question papers to us.
"A pop quiz?" I questioned myself as I gazed openly towards my question paper...the one I was about to fail in.
I quickly glanced through the questions. My heart sank...they were all easy, no wonder she gave only fifteen minutes.
After the paper, I bowed head down for a word of prayer. It was not just a word of prayer but it was for Kalmanda.
I've loved Kalmanda since I got to know her...she's actually the best sister I could ask for. She makes my know how it feels to have a friend on your side.
"Dear Lord," I started; "If you're listening now, I want you to know that I'm asking for...."
"Time's up!!!" Miss Poppins said interrupting my prayer.
"Georgia Mankick!....I see you're the first to finish. So would you be the first to step out." She asked narrowing her eyes at me.
"No Miss Poppins. I was just having a word of prayer."
"You shall not utter a word in my class young lady, do you hear me. Now take your seat."I sat down and remained silent until Moss Poppins had retrieved all her papers.
I continued my prayer at the cafeteria, bit I prayed in my head in case of any further interruptions.
At home, I squezzed myself in my couch and waited because I was the only one at home and mom had taken Kalmanda to the hospital.
I turned on the T.V to watch the News.I clamped my tea cup on the coffee table. I began to think about Kalmanda and how unusual this was to her and me.
