Lets get one thing straight. Maria Reynolds deserved better.
Sure, she was involved with Americas first sex scandal but she was forced into it by James Reynolds.
Her husband ABUSED her and FORCED her to do stuff she didn't want and that included being part of the Alexander Hamilton affair. She even wrote a letter saying how she didn't wish to be born.
The letter: "I have not tim to tell you the cause of my present troubles only that Mr. has rote you this morning and I know not wether you have got the letter or not and he has swore that If you do not answer It or If he dose not se or hear from you to day he will write Mrs. Hamilton he has just Gone oute and I am a Lone I think you had better come here one moment that you May know the Cause then you will the better know how to act Oh my God I feel more for you than myself and wish I had never been born to give you so mutch unhappiness do not rite to him no not a Line but come here soon do not send or leave any thing in his power."
Then people say, "But she was a scam artist!" SHE WAS FORCED TO BE A SCAM ARTIST BY HER ABUSIVE HUSBAND!
Then Alexander had to be a dick head and publicly humiliated her by posting the Reynolds Pamphlet. The public then scorned her so bad that she felt the need to move all they way to Britain.
She deserved so much and if you don't understand my reasoning here are some pictures.
