Falling For A Prince

Chapter 1

Antonio's POV

I looked at my father as he continued to talk about the ridiculous idea of having an arranged marriage. 

"Antonio. You must listen to me before another war breaks out between us and El Hermoso. You must marry the Princess! We don't have the resources to go against them. Our army is too small and we don't have enough arms to use against them. She is a beautiful girl who you would enjoy and give us beautiful grandchildren to eventually take over the crown." He sat down and slammed his fist on the table showing his frustration. 

"Papa what don't you understand! I don't want to marry some random girl. I want to be able to fall in love on my own." He gave me a look of disbelief.

" You think I would allow you to fall in love with some commoner? You are a royal so you will marry royal." He sat down showing it was the end of the discussion. 

I got up and walked out of the office. 

I rested against the wall next to the door. 

" What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" I asked myself.

" Well first you could stop being a fucking loser and stop talking to yourself." I jumped at the sound of my best friend and security guard Jamie  talking to me. 

"Shut up Jamie. Just leave me alone." He looked at me confused.

"Whoa. What happened in there Ant?" I looked at him with sadness.

"My dad decided that I should have an arranged marriage with some princess." Jamie continued to look at me confused.

"Okay? What's so wrong with that? You get to marry a princess! At least you get to express your sexuality. You know what would happen to me if I were to come out to the rest of the guards?" I started walking away knowing that he was right. 

Jamie came out to me when we were 16 and I'm the only one that he has told. We have been best friends since we were kids. After my dad found him alone outside of the castle when we were 5 he has been with me through thick and thin. We were basically brothers. 

I got to my room and was about to close the door but stopped knowing Jamie would be following behind. 

"I want to leave Jamie." He looked at me shocked. 

"What do you mean you want to leave Ant?"  I sighed and walked over to the window.

"Jamie. I want to leave this place. I want to explore before I take the crown. I want to fall in love like real love for a girl who likes me for me not just because I'm a prince and soon to be King. I want to travel the world or just stay in a little town and live a normal life for a bit." He came up to me and put his hand on my back.

"Ant if you really want to leave then go. I won't stop you from going. I just want you to be happy. I will let you go on one condition."  Ant nodded for him to continue.

"I have to go with you. I am your best friend and bodyguard. I need to be able to protect you from people if they find out who you really are." 

Antonio thought about it. Slowly nodding his head he agreed. 

They smiled at each other and started to plan it out.
