Chapter 9

I was like watching a movie, in an expensive theater. Everything was like played in a slow motion, with a gray scale filter. I want to run----to run to a far place, far from here and never look back. But I just couldn't. I couldn't move my feet.

I came back to my senses when Ryder pulled me, and stood in front of me in a protective manner. I was going to speak, but Natalie came in, and pulled me away from Ryder, and away from that chaos. She lead me to the chruch's back door. The moment we was out a black Aston Martin Vanquish stopped in front of us. Nat quickly opened the door, and ushered me inside. My mind can't seem to digest what's happening. I just let them push and pull me around like a piece of cloth.

The whole ride was quite, not even a single word came out of our mouths. I could hear the beating of my heart, the drops of the rain at the roof, the squeaking sound of the windshield wiper, and the booming sound of the engine, but I could care less of what I hear. For I am busy recalling the events that happened. From the moment I woke up until to that very time where a wolf came!

I pinched my cheeks hoping I was still dreaming, but I felt a sting of pain at my cheeks telling me I wasn't dreaming at all.

We arrived at Ryder's house, or should I say pack house? I stared at one corner while sitting on the sofa. Nat placed a glass of water on the table.  "Sav?"  she called getting my full attention. I look at her with a puzzeled look in my face.  "Nat, what just happened back there?"  I asked. She didn't answer me instead, she hugged me. I instanly cried on her shoulder funny things is, I don't even know why I'm crying.  "Sshh.... everything will be alright, Sav.  Just listen to Ryder's explination. All right?"

I stood in front of the full length mirror, staring at my wedding gown. Everything was so perfect.  "Such a shame! Your wedding was crashed by a wolf."  I said with a venom in my voice to the girl standing in front of me. A tear escaped in my eyes as I look at the girl's face. It held full sadness and confusion. The girl was no other than me.

"Sav?"  I turn around only to see the man whom I'm going to marry earlier, standing beside the closed door. I felt my legs become jelly, i can no longer support my weight. Ryder quickly catch me and hugged me before I fell on the floor. He carried me, and placed me gently on the bed. He sat beside me, and his arm snaked on my waist bringing me closer to him.

"Ryder, the wolf....I saw at the church was real right?"   I asked between my sobs. He let out a heavy sigh and answered me  "I'm afraid it is a yes, Sav."  I look at him in the eyes, and it held a lot of emotions I couldn't decipher.  "Why?"  Was the only word I could manage to ask him after I heard his answer.

He didn't reply he just looked away. Maybe Addison was right. Maybe I really don't know the man whim I'm going to marry. I shaked my head, why would I think like that? Am I doubting Ryder?

Ryder's POV

I stared at Savanah's sleeping face. She's so peaceful, like nothing happened a while ago. That wolf dared to show itself to my wedding! He somehow has the ecxact scent that I smelled at Sav's condo in him, but it was faint. This only means he and that wolf know each other.

That wolf who barge in my wedding refuse to shift back, but he shifted when I injected him a wolfsbane. His wolf can't bare the pain, and this can avoid him to shift to his wolf form. I mindlinked a member of my pack whose guarding the rogue  "Is the rogue awake now?"  I ask with my Alpha voice.  "Not yet, Alpha."  he answered  "Tell me when he does. That rogue needs a lesson."  I couldn't help, but growl. I felt him tense in my voice, but he replied  "Yes. Alpha."   I shut him down and the rest including my beta.

I looked at Sav for she was tensed for a moment, but quickly calm down. She might be having a nightmare again, and mayber this time her nightmare is all about what happened earlier. The thought of that incident made me shiver in anger. My wolf kept on growling and snapping at the back of my head. Anger was an understatement, he was furious and so was I.

But my anger sunk down like a ship, when I look at Savanah. How am I going to tell her? How am I going to reveal the truth without her leaving me in the end?

She was so gorgeous in her wedding gown. She was like a goddess when she walked down the aisle. Her smile was such a piece of art that even Mona Lisa's beguiling smile was forgotten, But it all faded when that wolf came. And I'm afraid that the colors she brought to my life would fade just like that.

And I'll be damned if she's going to leave me.
