It was the middle of the night and rain was pouring down outside. I couldn't sleep, so I was staring at the ceiling contemplating my life problems and such. A branch was tapping at my window, I didn't care. I am not afraid of ghosts.
My little sister at that time busted into my room and jumped on me. "Bubba, I saw someone in my closet." she shouted into my chest. "Elise, I am sure there it's nothing." I reassured her.
"There was, Len! He was standing right there!"
"Well let me get a good look at this 'someone'."
"Len! Don't!"
"I am sure it is nothing, let me check. You can come with me if you would like."
She shook her head as I climbed out of bed and threw a shirt on. She was tagging along really close to me, hugging my arm. We walked down the hall and into her room. Elise pointed at the closet, "It was right there!" I searched through her closet. Nothing. "There is nothing here, Elise." I then saw a shadow go past her door. It didn't look human. "What was that?" Elise said, eyes wide. "It must be Dad up from all the noise you made."
"But Len it's a ghost and I-"
"I am not afraid of ghosts."
I walked to the door and looked down the hall. The bathroom was closed, the lights were on, and there was a lot of moving going on in there. "Stay here." I said to Elise. She nodded, then dived for her covers. I walked to the door and tried to turn the knob. Locked. I looked down to see water coming out from under the door. I knocked on the door. "Dad? Is that you?" The lights then turned off and the water turned off. The door flew open, I turned on the lights. Nothing. Even all the water was gone.
I turned around to see a dark figure standing at the end of the hall next to my room. It was black, and It looked like a stick figure... Big head and a flimsy body. It had bony fingers that looked like it acted as a blade. It didn't have a face, only appendages. It took a step to me. I stepped back. It twisted around and took another step. I was then against the door.
It looked to the left. Elise's room. It turned in there. I dashed for the room only for it to be slammed in my face. I heard a blood curdling scream, and a sharp slice. "ELISE!!" I screamed through the door. The door slid open. There was blood everywhere. Elise's lifeless body, naked, in the middle of the floor. Her intestines were on the floor. I stood up and looked down at her, her insides spelling out, 'Don't turn around.'
I took a gulp. Gathered all the balls I had, then turned around. I saw it standing there with my parents on each side. There jaws were ripped off their faces and they were on their knees, their legs and arms twisted in a abnormal way. It lifted its hands up and moved its fingers. Like puppets, they acted on command and moved. They were crawling towards me. My eyes wide, and I had a overwhelming urge to vommit. I moved back onto Elise's bed while my deceased parents crawl in my direction. Blood was spilling out their mouths with every step. Then the dark figure started my way, twisting and turning in the oddest of ways. I was by then screaming and crying. I closed my eyes tightly..
