“Hey,” I clung onto the back of him like a koala, hands slung around his neck as he piggybacked me to a ‘surprise’ he had been planning. We’d been hanging out for two weeks now since I awkwardly initiated that emotional kiss with him at the hospital, and I’ve honestly never smiled so much ever in my life. With him, I still get butterflies. He brightens the day and lights up the night. Its amazing how you can fall in love with a person you didn’t notice the first time you met them.

“Yeah? We’re almost there! Stop fidgeting!” He laughed as he re-shifted his hands and began walking again. I was blindfolded, and for the past ten minutes I just kept whining playfully like a restless child, repeating the sentence ‘are we there yet?’

“Will you carry me forever?” I nestled my face in his neck, feeling the pricks of his short seal brown hair on the sides of my cheek.

“Maybe,” He smirked, earning a little nudge from me in the chest region. “I will, I will, I promise,” He convincingly took back his words.

“What if I get so fat that you can’t carry me anymore?” I asked self-consciously, my insecurities getting the better of me. Sometimes I just couldn’t take control of them.

“Then I’ll get fat too, and we’ll roll around together!” He creatively suggested. I burst out into fits of laughter as he erupted in tears of joy, our bodies shaking violently against each other from the crazy cackling. That was such an expected answer from Marcus. One word; childish.

“Ok, we’re here.” He prepared me to get down as he bent forward so I could touch the floor. I hopped of him and started to untie the bandanna that caused me my vision, but he put my hands on mine. “Easy, wild one. On the count of three,”

                  “One. Two. Three,”

As the fabric was lifted off, I opened my eyes to the underestimated beauty of Mother Nature. One could here the soothing crashing of the waves, the subtle howling of the sea breeze and the melodic rustling of the palm trees all around you. A traditional Bedouin beach tent was set up on the coastline, with lanterns that adorned the poles and the makeshift windows. A gypsy red mat was laid out neatly outside the tent, with cutlery sprawled out and a rattan picnic basket overflowing of food.

“Marcus, this is… I don’t know what to say,” My jaw dropped from this romantic act that he put up. I remembered telling him once that it would be a dream come true to have a picnic at sunset by the beach, then gaze at the midnight stars, falling asleep in a bohemian tent. He was too sweet.

He wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me closer to him as I rested my head on his chest. The curve on my lips simply couldn’t be tamed downwards. Being in his arms was where I felt safe and secure. His warmth enveloped me like a fuzzy embrace. That moment was literally picturesque.

“Hey-I forgot- close your eyes again,” He whispered in my ear as I did like he asked. I felt him pick up my left wrist and slip something around it, and then the clicking of a lock could be heard. My eyes sprang open and I stared at my hand in awe, smiling even wider than before.

“My bracelet! Oh my, you actually…” He actually got it back for me from Sophie. He sacrificed so much, knowing how much prized of a possession it meant to me.

I turned around, instinctively planting a kiss on his tender lips. He cupped my face, neither of us wanting this to end, and started to kiss me back. Our lips moved in sync, just like our hearts, as we dived deeper into the amore act. I wrapped my arms around his neck, thankful for the bliss that fate had arranged for me. He moved his hands behind my back, pulling me towards me, refusing to let go.

I pulled away, breathless from our first ever make out session. “I think I know what bliss really means now,” I grinned at him as the tip of our noses brush against each other.

                  “You know what, Carrie?”

                  “What?”

“Me too,” He smiled from ear to ear, showcasing his beautiful pearly whites and we giggled together, going in for another embrace. Love is life’s embrace, let it hold you tightly.

The moment we opened our hearts was when the story of us began. This is just the beginning of a new journey; let whole new incredible memories be forged.
