Chapter 3: The Agreement

Living in Love? I've never... but I thought that was just acting? Well, some was, based on what unnie (big sister/friend) said. Not this show... Well I guess I should, but then I'll have to move out of the Oval dorms and in with a... a guy? I don't know any guys. Is it an Oval guy? From one of the boy groups? I can't live with a guy! I can't "fall in love" like that. I've never even been on a date...

Rosella had all of these thoughts in the time it took for Tae Min to blink at her in anticipation. Realizing her silence and the growing awkwardness in the room, she shook herself out of her stupor and looked to Gun Ho. "Living in Love? Won't I have to... you know, move in with a man?" What kind of question is that, Rose? That was embarrassing.

"Well," he said shakily, "I suppose so. I do think this is the perfect role for you, though. I'm sure Tae Min and Mr. Park Jun Ho have a suitable partner chosen for you, and will allow you to take time to think about this one more time, correct?"

"We can give you an afternoon. Consult who you must, and think deeply. Filming will take seven months, during which time you will move in with the partner we choose. Both of you will continue your current trainings and performances, and will also be expected to film weekly challenges and interviews for show content, as well as live with cameras in your home everyday. During business hours of course. Which we will tell you. You will attend promotional events. You will speak your own words, which we remind you should reflect positively on Oval Entertainment. We will decide if coaching should be given based on your performance. You will participate wholeheartedly in games and competitions. You will play the part of being young and in love to attract viewers in the young adult and teenage demographics. Go. We meet again this evening for celebratory drinks and dining."

Rosella barely held her tongue, almost reminding him that she had not given an answer yet. She and Gun Ho left the luxurious office and proceeded to call Rosella's parents.

And with their blessing, Rosella agreed to what would become her greatest adventure yet.
