The One Who Got Away

Chapter 1

She turned away as he approached, she knew that it would only cause her deep pain to lay her eyes upon him again. He saw the hurt in her eyes as she turned away from him. He knew that he had hurt her, but continued to pray that she could find it in her to forgive him. He continued towards her and grabbed her arm. She slowly turned back towards him as his arm reached out and grabbed a hold of her's. Then he enveloped her in a long loving hug.

"I've missed you." She said as they exited the hug, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"I know," He said  as he wiped away a tear that had started to make its journey down her cheek. "I've missed you too, much more than I ever thought I would or was capable of. You were the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I don't know why I ever let you go. I love you so much Anabell Potts."

"I love you too Zachary." She responded, barely getting the words out of her mouth before he leaned in to kiss her.

  Anabell awoke with a start right before the kiss happened, just liked always. She sighed as she got up and started to get dressed for work. She has been having this dream every night since the day that Zachary left her, two months ago, to the date. He left her because he had to go on an out of the country assignment for work and had not the slightest idea when he would be back. Also, knowing that he would only have rare occurances of cell service and time for outside contact on this assignment, he believed that ending the relationship was the best option for both of them. She was willing to wait for him, and he loved her even more just because of this, but he did not think that this was that best idea. Zachary did not even know if he would even be coming back, he did not tell Anabell this ofcourse though because he did not want to worry her anymore. So instead, he left her broken-hearted and with a broken-heart himself.

    Anabell headed to the small kitchen of her flat to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to work. As she was doing so she got a text from her best friend, Heather.

(H=Heather A=Anabell)
H: Hey, are you free after work today.
A: Yeah, no plans. What's up?
H: Joe and I were planning on bowling. Care to join us?
A: Sure. Sounds fun, thanks. :)
H: Yeah, we'll meet you there 8.
A: Okay, see you then.

Then she headed off to a long day of work.
