Obi-wan's Love (book 2)

The Adventure Begins

I am flying by Padame's apartment when I see Obi-wan jump out the window.

"Obi!" I yell and I turn around and follow the droid that he is holding on to. I follow it very closely as it heads off towards the main road in the slums. I feel two familiar presents behind me and then I feel a light 'thump'. I turn and see that Reese has jumped into my speeder.

"Reese, are you ok?!" I yell over the wind.

"I'm fine, master." He says as he looks forward.

"Good." I say then I smack him. "Don't you EVER do that again! You jumped out of a moving speeder with Anakin driving! In the middle of a busy city! What the heck were you thinking?!" I yell and I smack him again. He sits quietly as we continue our chase. I see a sniper take aim at Obi-wan and fire.

"No!" I yell and I am about to dive after him, but Reese stops me. I look at him and realize why he jumped out of Anakin's speeder. Anakin saw this coming. I chase the now fleeing sniper hoping that Anakin got to Obi-wan in time. The sniper tries all kinds of tactics to lose me, but I'm right on her tail. Soon I see Anakin and Obi-wan pull up beside us.

"Vanna!" I hear Obi-wan yell. I look at him. "You and Reese need to fall back!"

"What?! Why would we fall back?" I yell back.

"In case we need back up!" He says and I glare at him.

"No! You two should be the ones that are back up!" I shout back. He gives me a stern look and I glare at him.

"We aren't falling-" I begin and I look and see that the sniper shot some power couplinks. I quickly pull up and go over as Anakin drives through them. I smirk as I hear Obi-wan yell at him. I realize that I am right above the sniper. I decide to stay with her. She turns into a tunnel and I follow her in.

"Master, what are we doing?" Reese asks.

"Look, if we keep letting her run she is going to get us all killed, but I know Anakin won't come into the tunnel. He'll go around and miss her. At least I can keep track of her." I explain as she exits the tunnel and goes straight down. I follow suite and she keeps trying to lose me. Then out of no where Anakin falls onto her speeder.

"Anakin, you moron!" I scream and Reese chuckles. He drops his lightsaber I watch and see that Obi-wan catches it. Then the bounty hunter begins shooting at Ani. I pull out a random blaster and I shoot at her ship. I hit the engine and her ship begins to go down. I see Anakin falls on the sidewalk and I see her ship crash. I fly over and land in front of her and she sees Reese and I. She then bolts into a club and I go to the entrance and just as I do Anakin is running in.

"Anakin!" I hear Obi-wan yells. Anakin walks over to him.

"He went into the club master." Anakin says. Obi-wan begins to lecture him on using the force, waiting, and not dropping his saber. I roll my eyes and go to walk in.

"Vanna." Obi-wan calls and I look at him.

"What?" I ask a bit annoyed.

"What was that? I told you to stay behind us." Obi-wan says as we walk inside.

"Yeah, and then you guys flew into electricity. So I flew over and 'backed you up' and made sure we didn't lose her." I say using air quotes when I say 'backed you up'.

"You boys go look around, and be careful." Obi-wan says and Anakin nods and Reese looks at me for permission.

"Stay close to Anakin. He'll take care of you." I say and he nods.

"Look. I don't know what has happened to you over the last 10 years, but we have to work together." Obi-wan says and I cross my arms and look at him.
