Hey everyone!
So, school just ended a few days ago for me, so I decided to write a little short story:)
I'm not expecting it to be too long, but this story is based on a true story that happened to me this past school year with (of course) a few changes. I hope you all enjoy!

My thumb hovers over the phone screen as my heart beats fast in my chest. I bite my lip as I'm still trying to decide on whether or not it's worth it to request to follow him.

What if he accepts it, but doesn't follow me back? What if he doesn't accept it at all? Different scenarios were playing in my head as I read over his username a few times.

I had always had a huge crush on this boy named Kian in my English class, and I had recently found his Instagram, which happens to be private. He's never really noticed me, and he probably doesn't even know me as anything more as the girl who sits across from him in English class.

I finally request to follow him and let out a sigh. I click on my own Instagram and delete all of my pictures from five years ago, not wanting to embarrass myself incase he follows me back. I haven't posted in months, so I decide to just delete everything and start over. I look through my camera roll and find a recent selfie and upload it before closing out of the app.

"Sophia, you're going to miss the bus!" My mother yells from the bottom of the stairs. I roll my eyes and and look at my reflection in the mirror. I adjust my jean jacket and smile at my 1975 shirt. I pull on a pair of sneakers and go downstairs, smiling at my mom.

"I'm not going to miss my bus" I say as I grab my bag from the corner of the room.

"I was just making sure." She sighs, running a hand through her hair. Ever since the divorce, she's been extremely stressed, which puts a lot of pressure on my sister and I.

"I have to go, love you" I say quickly after I read the time. I give her a kiss on the cheek before walking outside to catch my bus.

I sit alone towards the front, seeing I was the only one out of my friends who lived in my neighborhood. I pull out my phone and earbuds and listen to Russ while I look out of the window.

I had English with Kian first block, and for some reason I felt butterflies when I thought of his name.

I meet up with my friend Rachel before heading to class. "Okay so Chris and I went out to eat together last night." She says, a big grin on her face. She's had a crush on this guy for months now, but she's too afraid to tell him because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship.

"Just the two of you?" I ask, hoping she says yes. I've always wanted them to be together, but it's never actually happened.

"No, Alexis came with us." Alexis was one of our other friends. I was never too close to her, but her and Rachel are attached by the hip.

"Oh." I reply, knowing she would say that.

We walk into the class and make our way to our assigned seats towards the back of the room. My English teacher liked me for some reason, so I was the only one who got to sit next to one of their friends.

My heart beats faster as I hear Kian's voice as he enters the room. I look up at him and admire his features. He was wearing black skinny jeans with a white tee. It was simple, but he still managed to look amazing. I look back down to my phone as he approaches his desk, which happens to be across from mine.

Class went by quickly, even though I spent most of my time admiring kian and laughing at the jokes he would yell in the middle of class.

The rest of the school day went by slowly, and I couldn't wait to get home. I really missed my dog.

Once I get home, I walk up the stairs that lead to my bedroom and lay on my bed. I open Instagram and I smile as I see the notification.
