Chapter One
-Arden’s POV-
“Arden you need to hurry up! You always spend hours in the bathroom getting ready!” Autumn yelled from outside the bathroom. “Dude chill, I know you’re excited about the concert but calm down I’ll be out in a minute! I yelled back at her. Autumn is my bestfriend and my roommate and tonight we were heading out to a Pierce the Veil concert. We’ve been looking forward to this night for months now. We would remind each other daily and freak out because we were actually going, it was pretty much a typical day for the two of us. We would talk about past PTV concerts and point out how Vic sings his heart out and plays his guitar beautifully, how we would watch Tony strum his guitar so perfectly (and personally Tony was my favorite out of the four), how Jaime does a breakdown here and there and puts in so much work on the bass and how Mike has all the energy in the world to beat his drums up. It gave us the chills whenever we watched them play and this time we got to be side stage and backstage because Autumn won some passes from a radio show.
“Finally, you’re done!” she said as I was heading out. “Sorry? You were too busy on the phone with your boyfriend instead of getting in first before me.” I said laughing as I stated the truth. “I hate you,” she said to me. “You love me!” I shouted as she closed the door.
I walked back to my room and turned my music on so I could have something playing while I got ready. I had my outfit for tonight already laid out, a PTV baseball tee with a pair of jean shorts and a pair of my old black vans. I put a light layer of foundation on, contoured and blushed both sides of my face and put some mascara on and put my hair into a high ponytail. It didn’t take long before I got done and headed to the living room. I sat down on the cough and let out a tired sigh, the stress of work has taken a toll on me but I knew for a fact I would have so much energy at the concert.
“You’re taking longer than me now! We aren’t going to prom! Hurry up!” I shouted from the living room. “Better than prom! Give me a sec!” she yelled from her room.
“Done! Come on let’s go!” Autumn said running down the stairs. “Bring some extra cash we might go out and eat after the show.” I said to her reminding her. “Shit, thanks for reminding me,” she said as she went through her wallet to get $40 dollars out. “Okay, you ready?” I said. “Yep, let gooo!” she said while running toward the door.
-Tony’s POV-
“Cheer up Tone, whatever is wrong now will get better later,” Jaime said to me trying to cheer me up. That was the thing, whatever it was it took all the energy out of me. I didn’t know what was going on with me but it felt like there was a missing piece and somehow I had to find that missing piece before I go crazy. “It’ll be fine Tone, shit gets rough sometimes,” Vic said. Mike stood up and came up to me and put his hand on my shoulder and said, “You’re a tough guy. Don’t let shit bring you down.” What the guys told me made me cheer up a little.
“Hey guys, the two girls that won the backstage and side stage passes are here,” Michele our manager said. “Bring them in!” Vic said excitedly.
The two girls walked in and one of them really caught my eye. She was short with long brown hair that was put into a ponytail. The guys and I all gave each of them a hug and the smiles that went across their faces were amazing. “What are your names?” Mike asked them. “My name is Autumn and this my bestfriend Arden,” the girl with the red hair said. “You guys have beautiful names,” I said. They both said thank you but when I looked over at Arden she was blushing trying to put her hair behind her ear and trying to contain her smile. “Thanks for coming out to the show, we really appreciate it,” Vic said giving them a genuine smile. “No problem at all. We love you guys,” Arden said giving us all a smile. “We’ll meet you guys out there. We’re gonna go get ready and start the show. Talk to you guys after the show!” Jaime told them.
“Dude, Tone you totally made Arden blush super hard and where did ‘You guys have beautiful names’ come from?” Vic teased. “I really like her… I mean their names!” I said trying to fix what I said. “Tony, we know you just don’t like her name. She’s beautiful man! You should talk to her... she could be that missing piece,” Mike said. Mike was right but I had my doubts. What if she doesn’t like me because I wasn’t as outgoing as the other guys? What if I was too quiet and to myself? All these what ifs made me not want to say anything to her but I have to because I really want to.
-Arden’s POV-
“It’s packed out there! I’m glad we got these passes... Arden! Are you listening?” Autumn said. “Yeah I heard you… this just feels unreal,” I said. It was unreal but Tony telling us our names were beautiful was more unreal. He was the quiet one and I always found that nice but whenever he spoke everything around him would light up just like his amazing smile.
“They’re coming!” Autumn said jumping up and down. “I see, this is amazing!” I said smiling at how happy she was. One by one they each came running onto the stage and I found it amazing how the music they wrote affected so many people. “Hey San Diego, it’s great to be back home! It’s our last show of the tour so let’s end it right!” Vic said into the microphone. The crowd went wild and all Autumn and I could do was smile, this moment was the best moment I’ve ever experience so far. Then I saw Tony look back at us and smiled and all I could do was smile back at him.
When Vic sung we sung along with him, these songs meant the world to me and Autumn. They helped me through my high school years and they still had a big impact on me now. I struggled with life at home more than my life in school and their music made the moments fade away faster than anything could.
As I watched Tony play his guitar I couldn’t take my eyes off of him, the way he played was mesmerizing. When they finished the song he looked over to where we were and saw me looking at him, so all of a sudden he shyly walked over to me. I wanted to freak out but I knew I had to stay calm and play it cool. “Come out with me tonight, just us. Anywhere of your choice, it’s my treat,” he said into my ear. “Yeah sure,” I said as I nodded and gave him a smile. Inside I literally wanted to jump for joy or just maybe cry in fetal position. This night would never be forgotten because everything felt like it fell into place for once.
