(DAYU)
Three weeks later...
The day the DNA test result came out I was in a hospital visiting military veterans confined there.
Qing was in a meeting with different ambassadors together with the President of the Republic.
Yong is at school learning to add while XianQiao is at the Palace pounding away at her toy piano. She will not be a musician at the rate she is going.
The news came to Qing first. Then it hit the internet. I am not aware of anything as I told the people around me to not check their phones and try to concentrate on our job of talking to the veterans and asking about their welfare and the family that takes care of them as their guardians. And to assure them that the Royal Family never forgets their service to our country.
I learn about the news after I came home, checked on my children and then change my clothes.
I was emerging from our walk in closet when Qing came into our room and smile at me.
"It's negative. The boy is not my son," he said, without so much preamble because he knows I don't need them.
I went to him and hug him. "How are you feeling?" I asked because I know he has been anticipating the release of this DNA test.
He returned my hug, "Sad that we have to go through it. Relieved mostly that at least now we know the truth and happy that we could finally put an end to this and move on,"
Precise and honest. I nodded as we hugged each other tighter.
After having dinner together with the kids, we told Yong about the result.
He frowned, "So I am not having a brother?" he looked disappointed.
Qing and I look at each other, I turn back to our son, "Do you want a brother?" I asked him carefully.
Of course we will not go through another surrogacy just because Yong wanted a brother. That would just be wrong and my conscience will not permit me.
But it will be nice to know what my son really think. I think Yong has an interesting way of looking at things and analyzing them on his young mind.
He shrugged, "I guess having a brother won't be bad. XianQiao is a pain, Papa," he complained in a whiny tone.
Qing laughed, he can't help himself. I pinched him secretly. It is still our daughter Yong is criticizing.
"XianQiao is not that bad," I said in defense of his sister.
"She drools, Papa. And she snores and farts," he continued to complain.
"You do those things too!" Qing said.
Yong nodded, "Yeah but she is worse than me. Her fart stinks, Baba!" he twitches his nose like he can still smell his sister's fart.
I gave up. With his attitude I will not give him a brother even if I wanted more children.
Qing laughed some more and agreed with his son. I gave up on him too. These two are really peas in a pod. Cut from the same cloth. They are both painful to be with.
I sympathize with my daughter.
That night after kissing our children goodnight, we walked hand in hand on our suite.
After the door closed Qing hugged me and kissex me passionately.
"Thank you for raising our son like that," he said with a twinkle in his eyes after kissing me.
