Everything silent, the sound of my breath, heavy. Someone coughs in the distance, the silence is broken. My footsteps slowly brushing against the bridge, everyone around me rushing from one place to another.
"Stef, wait up!" A girl yells from across the bridge.
"I'm coming!" The sound shifts from person to person.
I wiggle my headphones in, "Finally." I whisper, quiet. The song rings in my ear, the sound filling up the space around me. I shut my eyes and let the music embody me. This, this is the feeling that I long for after the days of shouting and yelling. The honking of the cars, sirens running up and down the streets. For just a few minutes of one song I can forget about the rest of the world and just....just live.
"Hey!" A hand touches my shoulder, someone breathing heavily onto my neck. The soft voice that seems so recognizable. One headphone leaves my ear then the other.
"Hi." I'm just standing there, still while everyone else is moving constantly.
"Wow why so formal, it's been awhile hasn't it!" His hand tightens into a fist and brushes it against my shoulder. His face, seems to be of someone I know, those big brown eyes. Who is this? His eyes shift to the blue and black watch that rests next to his freckles on his right arm. "Come on we gotta hurry! We're gonna be late!" His hand raps around my shoulder and he begins to run like the wind, pulling me with him.
"Where are we going?"
