Have you ever thought about what could had happen if you had chosen differently? I personally think that every human asks themselves that question every once in awhile... What if? What if I made the wrong decision? What would had happened if I stay?
I'm sure that things would had been different, I don't know if things would be better or worse, but definitely different. I don't have the answer, I think that I will never be sure of what could have happen, but I know in my heart that if we were meant to be, we will reunited someday...
