What Lies Within A Kingdom

Chapter Four

The next day Kaira was up early and helping Nyraxa in the kitchen preparing breakfast. "So Kaira are you nervous?"

"For?"

"Your first training of cause. But you don't have to be, since Nyx will be teaching you."

"Nyx?
"Yes, Haru had given Nyx the order and besides don't you think it is a better way for you guys to bond like this?"

"I guess so, but what if I do something wrong or even say something I'm not suppose to or even..."

Kaira stopped when she heard Nyraxa laugh at her. Nyraxa then stroke Kaira's hair back and said that she had nothing to worry about.

After breakfast Kaira was on her way to meet Nyx at the training ground. When she got there the place was already full of students and it was early. She saw Nyx talking to his father, Nyx had a black pants and a black shirt with a white robe that had a black belt. His hair was tide in a low ponytail. Kaira not knowing what to do stood there, Nyx then saw her standing at the door and he suddenly appeared in front of her. "Come."he said and led her out of the building.

The two said nothing as they walked over to a beautiful place. It was also a training ground but where he had trained with his father. The trees were Cherry blossom trees that allowed their blossoms to follow the wind and a river was laid at the back.

"We will start with the basics." Nyx placed his hand on a dummy he had placed there last night and hits the dummy so that it lands very far. "I'm sure that is simple enough."

Kaira then walked over to the other  dummy and punched it with all her strength. "Ow, it is hard."

"Of cause it is hard, dummies aren't pillows ."

"You could have ad least warned me."

"Now, where would the fun be in that?"he said with a smirk. Kaira saw the smirk and said that she wasn't going to do it again. Nyx lift his one eyebrow. "Wow, we haven't even begin training and you're already quitting.?"

"Yeah, well..."

"And here i thought that the Princess was a tough girl that would do everything in her power to save her kingdom."

"Now, hold on just a minute..."

"But, she is nothing more then a little girl that cries and moans every time she doesn't enjoy what she does."

"Now, wait ..."

"A puny excuse for a future queen and yet my wife. Your parents must be so disappointed at you."

With that Kaira hit the dummy with everything she had that made the dummy end against a tree like what it did when Nyx hit it. He smirked knowing already how to trigger Kaira's anger points.

"Are you happy now, big boy?"she said standing right in front of him.

Nyx looked at how far his dummy was and how far her dummy was. His was way further then hers, he then looked at her and said no. "What, how come?" He turned her around.

"See how far my dummy is and look how far yours is. You haven't even made a scratch to your dummy."

"But, that has to be good enough."

"Really, because May-may got it right to make her dummy hit the third tree and she didn't even try."

Kaira then went over to her dummy and kept on hitting it till it was satisfying for Nyx.

It was now night time and the fireflies had come out to play. They surrounded the place and it was beautiful. "OK that is enough, I'm satisfied. Look at your surroundings what do you see?"

Kaira looked around and saw the fireflies and it was so beautiful." Beautiful isn't it?"he asked.

"Yeah, it is."

"Good, now catch me the one that is flying at the top of the tree without climbing the tree."

"Excuse me?"

"Are you deaf?"

"No, I'm just not sure if i heard you correctly. I think i heard you say that you want me to catch the firefly that is flying at the top of the tree without climbing the tree."

"That is correct."

"How, do you expect me to pull that off?"

"Easy, like this."he then jumped up and kicked against each tree and caught the firefly. Then let it go.

"Isn't that cheating?"

"How?"

"You climbed the tree."

"I did no such thing. I remember me jumping against the trees not climb it."

"Look, I'm tired and hungry..."

"Then I suggest you start, because we won't be leaving until you actually get me that firefly."

Kaira mumbled something and went over to the trees. She then jumped up and against the tree,but instead of actually jumping to the other one she slipped and landed on her back. "Again." No matter how many times she did it she just kept on falling and falling and finally. Falling.

"Do you, not wish to have food and some rest?" Nyx asked her.

"I do but..."

"Then get me that firefly,because if i get up and do it myself. There will be nothing for you to eat."

Kaira tried again, but she just couldn't do it. "Again."

"I cant do it !"she said and went over to the river and placed her feet into the cold water since her feet was hurting from all that jumping against trees and falling.
Nyx sighed and went over to Kaira and saw her bruised feet. He then sit next to her." I'm sorry, I should have been a little nice to you. You're not use to this type of..."

"Its not that."she said in a gentle tone. Nyx then looked at her,but he couldn't see her expression since she turned her head the other way.  He then heard her crying and realised that she didn't miss her home but her parents. "That neckless, that is the neckless the king had given you, right?"

"Yes, he said that no matter where i am. As long as i wear this neckless, they will always be with me."

"Exactly, they will always be with you. So you shouldn't give up, no matter what you're facing or how hard things get never give up. Come, you said you were hungry so lets go."he got up and went walking.

"No!"

Nyx turned around when she said that.

"I will get that firefly for you." Nyx could not help but be amazed at Kaira. There was something about this girl that just amazed him. She sort of reminded him of himself when he first started this training with his father.

"You, don't have to. We can carry on tomorrow."

"But, i want to and i will get that firefly."

"Very well."he then went over to where she was and before she began he gave her some tips. After a long struggle Kaira had finally got it right to catch the firefly. But just as she gave him the firefly she collapsed and before she could hit the ground Nyx caught her and carried her to the house." Good job Kaira."he whispered after placing her on her bed in her room, since everyone was asleep. He then went over to his room and fell asleep.
