What Lies Within A Kingdom

Chapter Seven

The next day Kaira had decided to,go and visit the stores in the village. She was already dressed in her samurai robes, with her kitana. Just as she closed the door and was still on the stoop, she walked into Ten-Chu.

"Ten-Chu, hi. What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I came to tell you that there is a problem at the captains meeting and they ask for all captains to go ASAP. "

Kaira then quickly ran over to the training grounds samurai room, where she barged into the place and found that a lot of the sensei were sitting. "Kaira, what are you doing here?" Nyx asked.

"They said there was trouble."

"There is but I'm not sure you should be here." Nyx said signalling May-may to do something.

May-may then got up and told her that she forgot something at home. "No, what is the matter?"

No one answered her.

"I deserve to know."she said and studied Nyx's face and realised that something bad had really,happened. "Nyx, please tell me."

He sighed "It is about your parents."

"What about them?"

"They had been killed. "

"No, I don't want to believe that. How, what happened"? She then held onto her neckless.

"The kings brother had send someone into the palace to kill them while they were asleep, I'm sorry Kaira. I really am."

With that words Kaira ran out of the room and to her room, where she closed her door and wept.

Nyx came from work since it was already late and it was time for dinner. He then didn't see Kaira helping his mother like the usual. "Is she still inside her room?"he asked his mother.

"She didn't come out once today. Poor thing, taken away from her parents when she was five and now finding out that they had been killed."

Nyx then went over to her room and stood in front. "Go away."she said.

"I see you have mastered your sensing." But there was no answer. Nyx felt as if he had been stabbed in the chest, he didn't want Kaira to be sad he wanted to see her smile on that beautiful,face of her. That smile that could light up anyone's day.
He then heard her crying, trying her best for no one to hear her.

"Kaira, please can i come inside?"

"Go away Nyx."

"I can't, not if i couldn't get to see you, you don't have to hide your tears from me."after saying that the door was slide open, revealing a crying Kaira, her eyes was red and puffy, her hair mixed up as if she was scratching her hair trying to figure out what to do. Nyx could not help but pull her in for a hug. "It's Okay, like i said, you don't have to hide your tears from me." Kaira then placed her head against Nyx's shoulder and allowed her tears to flow, while he held tight onto her and hugged her even tighter.

"Kaira, how are you feeling now?" Nyx asked Kaira.

The two was in her room, lying on her bed. Kaira was lying next to Nyx with her head placed on his chest, he had loosen his hair and loosened his top robe to reveal his strong chest. Everyone was already asleep except for the two. When Nyx saw she didn't answer his question, he then stroke her hair away from her forehead and gave her a kiss.

She moaned in her sleep as if she was trying her best to not wake up. Nyx could,not help but smile, he then slide gently out of her bed, trying not to wake her. But he then felt a tight grip holding his shirt. "No, please don't go."

"Shhh, relax. I'm just going to get some water, I won't be long."he said and kissed her hand. She then let him go.

Nyx walked out of her room and slide the door close. "How is she?"

Nyx turned around and found him staring at May-may. "She's asleep. But she didn't stop crying."he then folded his hands into fist thinking of what happened to the king and queen and how much he hated her uncle for making Kaira cry.

May-may realises this and places her hand onto her brothers shoulder. "Hey, she is okay now, right? And we need to be strong for her, no matter how hard it will be we must stay strong for Kaira."

"I know."he said and held his sisters hand that was on his shoulder. "Maybe I should put the wedding at hold."

"Mother suggested that. She says that she could cancel the preparations she was planning on doing tomorrow. But I think it would be best if we ask Kaira first."

"I was planning on doing so, is mother awake?"

"Yes she is. She didn't go to her room yet."

"You on your way there?"

"Yes."

"Then tell her I will let her know tomorrow."

"Very well. Hold in there okay." May-may said and walked away, around the corner to her parents room and from there to her room. Nyx then went to the kitchen, drank some water and went back to Kaira's room as he said he would do.

When he slide the door open he saw Kaira standing at her balcony. Her hair loose and flowing with the wind. While holding her neckless with both her hands and looking out to the stars. "What a beautiful star I see."

She turns her head and smiles seeing Nyx standing there. Nyx then walked to her, takes her hands away from her neckless and hold them. "I'm sorry Nyx."

"For what, you had done nothing wrong."

"Yes, but I'm making you worry about me. And I don't want that."

"It is alright with me, I really don't mind." He then kiss her on her forehead and hugs her. "You don't have to be sorry, it is my choice to be here with you and i want to be here."

The two then stood there still holding each other. "Kaira."

"Yes?"

"My mother says that she can cancel the preparations for the wedding tomorrow. I honestly think that it wont be a bad..."

"No, now that my parents has past on. The kingdom needs a king and queen."

"Buy Kaira..."

"I want to do this Nyx. Not just for the kingdom, but for myself as well."

"But, wont it be to much for you?"

Kaira smiles knowing that it hurts Nyx seeing her sad and places her hand on his cheek. "No, not as long as I have you Nyx."

"But even if you marry me, you're not 18 yet."

"Yes, but you are and when we get married you will be married to a princess."

"You mean to say that since I am already 18 and married to you. I will already be king?"

"Exactly, so when we go back to Zathana we can take the throne before my uncle."

"You're sure you don't want to put the wedding on hold.?"

"Yes. Now come we should get some rest."

"Very well."he said with a smirk.

She raises her eye brow to his smirk and suddenly she was scooped into his arms. He then placed her on the bed and kissed her , she return the kiss. The two then slowly let go of each others lips. Nyx then lies next to her , she turn and place her head on his chest again, he covers her with the blankets and gives her a kiss on her forehead. Nyx then blows the candle and the room is dark. He places his head down on his pillow and allows himself to fall asleep.
