What Lies Within A Kingdom

Chapter Eight

The next day Kaira and May-may was at the stores in search for Nyraxa. Since they were shopping and getting things for the wedding. "So Kaira, um..."

"I'm okay May-may, if that was what you  wanted to know."she says and looks at May-may with a smile.

"Than, that is good." The two was silent again. "Kaira ?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure of this. We still have time before we get to the bridal shop?"

"Did Nyx ask you to ask me again?"

"Yes, but I want to make sure if you're really up for this. "

"I'm alright with it ."

"But Kaira..."

"I made up my mind, May-may. As princess and future queen, I have to think of Zathana. Now, please accept this, for me please."

"I'm sorry, forgive me. I just worry of you."

Kaira feels bad and hugs May-may. The two then couldn't stop talking to each other and spot Nyraxa looking at the material for the decorations. The two then got there and was already in the dressing room, fitting on their dresses.

Meanwhile at the training grounds. Nyx is training his students how to fight with their weapons. "I see you are up and ready for the day. I guess Kaira is alright?" Haru said walking into the training ground, wearing his samurai robes.

"So she says. But, I personally think that the wedding should be put on hold."

"Nonsense, if she feels like she can go threw with the wedding then you should respect that. Besides she knows that it will be good for the kingdom."

"But that's the thing father, I don't want her to go threw with the wedding because of the kingdom. I want her to do it because she wants to."

"My son, sometimes you going to have to ignore your heart and follow your mind."

"Yes, but..."

"Remember your duty. Your duty is to marry the princess, with or without love and rule over Zathana with her in order to protect her from harms way. Besides, I wont be living long and I would like to see ad least three of my grandchildren."

Nyx is silent for a moment and smiles shyly. "As lovely as that sound. I for one isn't ready to have kids of my own."

"And Kaira?"

"Father, she had just lost her parents and is soon to be married . She is going to have to also go back and face the kingdom. Kaira has a lot of things on her mind and I'm sure kids isn't one of them ."

"Yeah, well you two better get your things together, because I don't want any excuse of not letting me see my grandchildren after marriage."

Haru then left the grounds and left Nyx there with his students.

After a long day at the bridal shop. Kaira, May-may and Nyraxa was finally done shopping and on their way to their house when they saw something they had wished they had never seen. A child was hanged right in front of everyone and around his neck on a board it was written. Little niece of mine, I know you are somewhere and getting ready to take your fathers kingdom back. But no matter what you'll do this kingdom will always belong to me and if you try anything. Your loved ones will die just as I killed your parents.

Kaira didn't know what to do and ran home. May-may and Nyraxa following her. Kaira got to her room and began to pack her things. Nyraxa had send May-may to fetch Nyx and Haru. "Kaira, just be reasonable."

"Over what Nyraxa, you heard my uncle he knows that I'm trying to take my fathers kingdom and I don't want to loose the ones I love. And by that you guys, I cant stay here."

Just then May-may had returned with Haru and Nyx. Nyx saw Kaira pack her things he then stopped her by pulling her away from her bag.

"Let me go Nyx, I have to go. "

"Just where will you be going?"

"I don't know , but I will find a place. Far away from you guys."

"And the wedding?"

"Cancel it."

"But your parents..."

"They're dead!"

Silence filled the room after hearing Kaira say those words. Kaira's eyes began to fill with tears again. She didn't mean to sound so rude and stubborn, but she loved this family too and couldn't risk loosing them too a specially not Nyx. She loved him more then anything.

Nyx then simply pulled her in for a hug. She pulled away ." No Nyx, you have to let me go."

"But i told you. I cant."

"I'm doing what is best for you."

"If that was true, you wouldn't be leaving me."

"I don't want to see you die."

"But, everyday will be as if I'm not living if you won't be here with me so please don't go we can work something out."

"Work what out, Nyx? That man is crazy he will hurt you, if he is capable of killing his own brother for a kingdom, what would make you so special.?"

"Kaira, if we just give this more time..."

"There is no time. A child is dead because of me. He knows where I am. I'm sorry, but as princess i can't..."

"Then, let us marry tonight.!"

"What?"

"The sooner we get married the sooner you can take back your kingdom. Right?"

"Yes, but..."

"Mother, go and tell the villagers that the wedding will take place tonight at the Cherry Blossom lake."

Nyraxa then did as her son asked, May-may began with the decorations. Nyx then looked back at Kaira's sad face and knew that she thought that he was mad with her. He then simply lift up her chin to look at him.

"I'm not mad, I made a promise to your parents and myself that I will keep you save. And I'll be damned if something ever happened to you."he said and gave her a kiss. "Now go and get ready."

"Thank you."she said and gave him a quick kiss before leaving the room to go and get ready for the wedding.

The night has arrived and all the visitors was already there. Nyx was wearing a traditional grooms robe and his hair was loose. Everyone was waiting for Kaira to arrive.

The music began to play. The instrument they had used was a violin. Kaira then arrived. She had a white long beautiful Kimono on, her hair was loose and decorated with flowers. She looked beautiful. The Cherry Blossom trees was being used to hang the Japanese lanterns.

When she got to the altar, they had said their vows and given each other their rings. The pastor that was Haru then gave Nyx and Kaira permission to kiss. He then pulled her close and the two kissed each other while a painting was made of them kissing. Just as they had finish kissing, May-may did a magical trick that let butterflies fly around them and away up in the sky and the butterflies then turned info fire crackers. The night was beautiful even if it was planed last minute, Kaira would never forget this night.
