I stood on my doorstep looking at Gavin. I loved that he was taller than me. I love it when guys are taller than me, so I could stand on their feet or go on my tippy toes to kiss them. Wait, who said I was kissing Gavin? I knew Gavin worried about me though… the incident in the woods affected us both. He probably thought I was insane.

            “So, I’ll catch up—“

“Gavin?” I cut him off. “Stay with me? Please?” I asked. He locked his car and nodded. “I’m not sure if my brother is here or not.” I mumbled. I turned and opened the door to my house.

The outside of my house was cabin like. When you walked right in, you were greeted by a beige carpet, grey brick fireplace, a mahogany wood coffee table in the shape of some bacteria (I’ve got an active imagination), three couches; one brown leather and the other two almost blended with the carpet, a 78 inch flat-screen telly in the corner, a deer head mount above the fireplace, and one whole wall was of windows.  The flooring molded into hardwood floor for the rest of the house.

I Saw Devan stuffing his face with oranges while sitting on the couch watching a documentary on Ripcurl Magazine. Devan is really into surfing. Devan looked at me like he was a deer in the headlights.

“Who’s your friend, Olive?” Devan stood up and walked over to shake Gavin’s hand. I sucked in a breath. Devan is… nervous when meeting new friends.

“Dev… this is Gavin. My new friend.” I said with a smile at Gavin, encouraging good behavior. After saying hi, I tugged them both to the kitchen. The décor of this room followed along with the rest of the house.

“Devan. I feel like I am losing my mind.” I muttered as I grabbed a cola from the fridge and I hopped up on the counter top. Devan looked at me and thought for a moment as Gavin went to me and leaned against the counter next to me.

“What do you mean? Wait… nevermind don’t answer that. Did he happen again?” Devan asked with a worried look, trying to keep it confidential but not succeeding. I smiled a little. “What are you going to do?” He asked.

“I…” I paused. I thought about it real good for a moment. I ain’t dyin’ that’s what I’m not doing. What if I see what slender wants? I don’t know anything about him. “What if I give him what he wants?”

“Are you insane?!” The two boys said in sync. They glanced at each other but directed their attention to me. I laughed and slid off the counter. Devan growled at me and Gavin just took a breath. I grabbed Gavin’s hand and led him to the doorway.

“I’m going to my room. By the way, I was just joshin’!” I winked at Devan and led the way to my room.
