Namjoon didn't enjoy when loud and rowdy classmates took away from his quiet time in the library. After a long day of random snickers and spitballs to the head, he would enjoy some time to himself. He was known as the crazy nerd in school who could talk for hours about how cool it would be if soldiers started using laser swords or laser guns. From his small corner of the library near the old dusty books that no one seemed to notice, Namjoon grumpily tried to focus back on his novel.
"Hey, Joons! Whatcha reading?" Namjoon glanced up through the top of his glasses to see no other than Hoseok standing in front of him with a large cheery grin on his face. Sighing, he put his science fiction novel down and spun it to face his friend. Even though Namjoon denies it, he enjoys Hoseok's loud company, for he is one of the only classmates he can call a friend.
Along with Namjoon, Hoseok was one of the kids who were labeled as a nerd in their school. Though Hoseok doesn't let it bother him- he always seems to be the geeky life of any party.
"Ooh, cool! I've heard about this novel the other day in manga club!" The latter exclaimed. Any other person would feel slight embarrassment about being in a manga club but Hoseok proudly expresses his love for manga and anime.
"Yeah, it's pretty good... although, I disagree with a few of the ideas of how the future could turn out."
Hoseok smiled lightly at his friend. Even though many in his school thought Namjoon was crazy, he knew of how smart the boy was. He had always admired and envied his intelligence and eagerness to learn.
The two boys sat in the far corner of the library conversing about small topics such as different movies and books they had seen. Voices getting louder and louder to hear each other over the obnoxiousness of the fellow classmates across the room.
One of the kids from the other side of the library seemed to notice the two class nerds sitting in the far corner. Soon laughter and teasing was heard by the two males, along with the occasional ball of paper to the head.
"Ugh, can you guys get a life or at least leave us alone!" Shouted Hoseok glaring at the group of boys and girls.
Snarky remarks and eye rolls was the only reply as the group eventually took their seats and quieted down.
Calming down, Hoseok turned on his phones home screen, eyes widening as he saw the time.
"Sorry, Joons but I gotta go, my mom is gonna kill me if I don't have the dishes done by the time she gets home." And with that Hoseok grabbed his belongings and hurried out the door.
Namjoon also decided it was a good time to leave the library's comfort and head home. Slowly packing his book bag, he went out of the library. Not before nodding goodbye to the sleepy old librarian.
Outside the clouds in the sky were gray. A soft breeze ran through Namjoon's blond hair signaling that a storm would approach sometime soon. Walking on the chipped sidewalks that were slowly being taken over by tree roots, Namjoon decided to take a trip to his most frequented diner before heading home. His tastebuds were craving a strawberry milkshake- his favorite.
The exterior of the diner was retro themed. A bright green light that spelt out 'open' was placed in one of the many windows.
Stepping inside the diner Namjoon spotted his favorite seat at the end of the milkshake bar. Inside the diner the floors were checkered and the walls were pink. Blue booths lined the walls filled with different 50's themed adds and light ups.
Namjoon sat in his seat while the waiter behind the bar flashed him a bright eye smile.
"The usual, I assume?" The boy asked. Namjoon gave a bright smile back and nodded. The waiter was a boy a few years younger then him and named Jimin. Jimin was a very friendly, puppy-like boy who's cheery eye smile and giggles could brighten up any room.
