"Now look what you've done," snapped Xander as he followed a wayward Poe, still trying to clamber into his flight gear. Jemina had to jog to keep up with the two and she was clearly seeing the error of her ways when she saw the almost wild look in Poe's eyes when she told him the news.
"I didn't know that he was going to do that," Jemina confessed through gritted teeth. However, she felt instantly bad. She hadn't meant to make things harder on Xander. She should've known that she should've probably told him first and then he could've found a way to tell Poe about it.
Xander huffed in annoyance. "Well, I don't really know what we're going to do know. In case you haven't noticed, Poe is stubborn!"
"Yes, I'm well aware," broke in Jemina as she watched him head toward his ship. Usually BB-8 would be perched there, giddy and ready to go. However, that wasn't the case today.
Xander gripped Poe's shoulder as he tried to climb into it. He nearly dislocated his shoulder trying to pull him back. "Xander, what are you doing?!"
"You can't just go by yourself. You need a squad, maybe even a fleet," Xander pointed out.
Poe narrowed his eyes before the sound of stomping feet filled the space. They all turned to see Tas storming toward them. He was steaming. Xander swore that he saw steam wafting from of the healer's ears. Xander ducked down and shoved his hands deeper in his pockets. They were very much in trouble now.
"What in the force," spat Tas as he stood a few inches from Poe's face. "Are you three doing here?! Where is your IV?! What are you doing?!"
Poe actually flinched as he drew backwards. "I-I'm....um....."
"What is going on here?"
The sound of more footsteps echoed as Leia bounded forward. Xander threw his hands in the air before he grasped his face and grunted heavily. "Could this get any worse," he muttered to Jemina.
"Tas, what is going on," asked Leia gently.
Tas threw a hand in their direction. "I found these three making quite a racket and I'm willing to bet that Poe was about to get into that fighter, isn't that right?"
Xander opened his mouth to argue, but Poe took a step forward. "Don't blame them. Yes, I was going to go off on my own. They were just trying to stop me."
"That's not 100% true. I may have mentioned hearing from BB-8 to Poe, but I didn't know that he would do this," explained Jemina bashfully.
Leia sighed heavily. "I take it that this droid has to be very important to you, Poe," she murmured before she lifted her head to meet his gaze.
Poe gave a powerful nod. "He is, ma'am."
"Tas, is he flight ready," Leia asked as she swiveled around to face her healing.
Tas clutched his hands together as a strange sound emitted from the back of his throat, sort of like a growl. "Absolutely not and you know it!"
"Give me any tests you want," pleaded Poe as he nearly forced Tas to look at him. "I'll pass them, I know that I will. I can do this, Tas. You have to believe in me."
"Believe in you? I'm sorry, Poe, but your track record right now of listening to you isn't the greatest," Tas pointed out.
Poe took a step forward so that they were standing almost chest to chest. His eyes shone in determination while his stance was strong. He seemed to be as strong as he was before, but Tas knew how the body could fool him. It wouldn't last, though, and he was sure of it.
