CHAPTER 35- WILL MADDY GO?

Mahdia felt her heart stop for a moment. He has come here for her, and he considers it an important reason. Mahdia is speechless, but in a good way.

Ahyan moved his hand and turned now facing her, 'So Mahdia, two weeks ago you proudly claimed to love me. Do you still love me?'

Mahdia smiled shaking her head, 'So? You have come to ask me this?'

'Do you, Mahdia. Do you still love me?' Mahdia stopped laughing when she realized he was serious, very serious.

She looked away at the tower and then back at him, 'Not even for a minute, a second did I stop loving you, Ahyan.' Looking at his expressions she continued, 'I know it sounds filmy but it the truth.' She shrugged. Ahyan looked away, he looked guilty.

'But I am fine with you not loving me. Now, I can't force anyone. You shouldn't force yourself either. So, chill. And Hot dogs?' Mahdia is about to leave when Ahyan held her hand stopping her. She looked at him.

'Mahdia. There is something I need to tell you.' Ahyan paused waiting for her reaction, she just gave him a carry-on-I-am-listening look, 'I have accepted that I am attracted to you, but you know right I don't believe in this love and all, I just...I want to spend some time with you...get to know you better, sort my feelings.... You know na, what I mean.' He finished. Mahdia simply smiled, 'Hot Dogs?' Ahyan sighed in defeat.

They sat in one corner having the Hot dogs, Ahyan was never a fan of street foods. In fact, he never had fast foods but today munching on it with Mahdia he felt it is the best food there is.

As they sat admiring the magnificent tower, Ahyan tilted his head little and looked at Mahdia. She is leaned back supporting her weight on her palms. Slowly, he moved his hand and placed his palm over hers. There is a quick reaction, she turned to face him so quickly that Ahyan retracted his hand thinking he did something wrong. He looked away. Mahdia smiled and shifted little closer. Ahyan looked at her and she smiled at him.

She is happy that Ahyan is attracted to her after all attraction is the first step in falling in love and Mahdia is confident he will fall in love with her, soon.

The cab halted in the suburb where Mahdia resides, before stepping down she turned her head and looked at him, 'For how long are you here?'

'A month.' He said. Mahdia smiled. She turned around and opened the door. Ahyan looked at longingly. Before she got down she turned to face him again, 'You will be staying in a hotel for that long?' she asked curiously.

Ahyan nodded, she then bit her lower lip before saying, 'I can help you get a residence for a month, on rent.' She is relieved when Ahyan gave a nod. She is glad she can help him.

They bid goodbye and before she left Ahyan added he will come to her café for breakfast, they can go for apartment hunting. Mahdia nodded smiling broadly.

'Maddy, you, all right?' Mariam asked wide-eyed. She had just caught her Aunt in her PJs shaking her hips and butt to a cheesy romantic song.

Mahdia quickly straightened up and flashed an embarrassed smile. Mariam shook her head muttering, 'Maddy bhi na, at times acts like a kid.'

Mariam had just sat on the bed when Mahdia crawled up the bed and hugged her tightly taking her complete surprise. Mariam yelped.

'He is back and this time for me.' Mahdia cuddled Mariam so hard that she felt her breath getting caught in her chest.

'Who came?' Mariam pushed Mahdia and asked breathless, an irritated scowl on her face. Mahdia smiled and leaned forward, she held Mariam's shoulder, 'Ahyan!' Mahdia blushed.

Mariam blinked for a while as though taking in what she had just said, and then she too smiled widely, 'Really?' her eyes twinkled. Mahdia nodded her head. Mariam squealed happily and hugged her Aunt.

'Maddy, I like him too. I want to meet him too. Bring him on Thursday, please.' Mariam said cutely.

'Of course.' Mahdia pinched her cute nose. Mariam smiled and snuggled closer.

They stayed this way for some time before Mariam said, this time she sounded sad.

'Maddy? If things go well between you two. You guys will marry?'

Mahdia blushed.

'And he will take you away from us,' Mariam looked up at her aunt sadly, Mahdia felt her heart sink too, 'I will miss you.' Mariam hugged Mahdia. Mahdia hugged her back. She has decided if things fall into place and she and Ahyan do get married, and if they shift to India, which they will, then Mahdia will take her mother and Mariam with her. Mariam tilted her head little and looked at top of Mariam's head. She then leaned forward and placed her cheek on top of her head.

'I am going nowhere without you and Mom.' She whispered. They have only her for them. If Mahdia goes away who will take care of them? The thought made Mahdia shudder with fear.

After Mariam had fallen asleep, Mahdia made her lay down and lay beside her. Soon she too slept off
