7 days before the outbreak in the united states

"YENAAAAA! WAKE UP WE HAVE TO START GETTING READY FOR THE REHEARSAL DINNER! AND DAD SAID WE'RE STAYING OVER FOR A NIGHT" Yena slowly rises up from her bed with slouched shoulders. She stretches her arms and yawns, while trying to get up with so little effort she scratches her messed up hair, while smacking her dry mouth from sleeping with her mouth open, and finding dry saliva on her cheeks. She looks at her clock on her right bedside table, scratching her eyes open to read the time and slowly the arrows of the clock come into view "1:47".

The sunshine is bright and is shining through the gaps of her torquoise curtains, draped over her baywindow looking over the busy city of Atlanta. Yena shouts back "IT'S ONE FORTY FRICKING SEVEN AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE AT WASHINGTON AT SEVEN, WHAT'S THAT? THIRTY! SEVEN FRICKING THIRTY, LAST TIME I CHECKED IT TAKES LIKE AN HOUR TO GET THERE!" Yena grunts and grabs her covers and lies back down on her bed and rolls her eyes, and lets out an annoyed breath.

Just as she's about to fall back asleep. Her door swings open slams against her wall. Chad, her older brother is standing there with an annoyed look on his face, with his auburn hair hanging just above his blue eyes. "WAKE UP YOU BRAT WE HAVE TO START GETTING READY! DAD WANTS US THERE BY FIVE..." He clears his throat and does the worst impression of a girl voice resembling a whiny little girl. By that he was trying to impersonate his little sister Yena "FRICKING. EHEM. THIIIRTY* He makes the word "thirty" so loud and irratating Yena just has to get up. Get up to hit him. Yena throws her covers out of the way grabs her pillow that was under her head, when she refused to wake up, and aims it at her brother. Chad dodges and makes a mocking face so ugly it's almost funny. He picks it up and throws it at Yena without effort.

Yena feels the impact, a dense pillow molding into the shape of her face, the impact was hard but it felt like that air just seemed to give her a slap in the face. As the pillow falls back onto the bed, Yena sees Chad smirking with folded arms. "Fine, just get out." Yena says as she gives him a look that says "I'm going to murder you." Chad shrugs and raises his eyebrows, and dancing his way out of the room taking his time. He dances step by step, meaning step by step he takes tiny baby steps, and by dancing, in his definition means dancing like a old man trying to do the catdaddy. Yena's pissed off, she grabs a pillow and clutches it, right before she throws it so she can hit him right in the face, as she about to throw he already opened the door. She throws it at the exact moment he rushes out and slams the door shut.

He then peeks his head out and sticks his tongue out and mouths "loser" and slowly closes the door. Yena shuts her eyes and takes a deep breath. It takes her longer to get out of bed, than it takes her to go to sleep. She heads to the bathroom to take a cold shower. She leaves the door ajar. As she taking a shower, she hears someone quietly opening the door and slip inside. "YIIIEEENAAH!" Yena jumps a little and says "MAYIIAAAAHH!" loud enough to be heard from the sound of running water coming from the shower. "I brought the clothes your mother purchased for you. It was given to me by one of her maids, she just dropped it off this morning." Yena opens the shower curtain a bit, her eyes shift and eyes the gap between her bathroom door and the panel, she can see Maya's reflection on her vanity table, in her maid uniform. "Is she still in Georgia?" Maya sighs "Yes she is, she's staying in the lake house in Savannah." Yena feels a deep feeling of longing, longing to see her mother after these years she's been hidden away in that lake house, never allowed to visit her. "Is she going to the rehearsal dinner?" Maya gives a "tsk tsk tsk" "Yena, you know she isn't, she's fine by herself, she's independent, after all these years working for both your father and mother, I've seen what happened and let it go Yena, you can't change the fact that they're marriage is over."

Yena's eyes drop and closes the shower cutrain once again and clears her throat. "I'll be going now, so you can get ready. The driver will be arriving in an hour or so." Yena hears Maya's footsteps sounding more distant and hears the door open, and close again. Yena's eyes close and she can picture the moment where she snuck out her room late at night and followed to sound of screaming coming from her mother and scolding coming from her father. Yena opens her eyes, finishes her shower and starts to get ready. Yena wraps a towel on her head and wears a bathrobe, she brushes her teeth as she walks out her bathroom. Yena walks across her marble floors and opens the door to her walk in closet. "What to wear, what to wear..." she mutters to herself with a mouthful of toothpaste. Yena picks out a silk dress, embroidered with pink, cream and white flowers, starting at her shoulder, following down to her waist and ending at the hem of her dress. "no no no" is the first that comes to her mind when the toothpaste is dripping down and falling to her bathrobe.
