1 | Getting Caught

She gave the brass knob a turn and the door opened with a creak. The class was empty as it was still very early in the afternoon. Alessandra Anne was the first person in class to arrive at school.

She capered around the class, looking for bits and pieces which would make the floor look unclean. She was indeed in a very good mood because it was her birthday and she was even more than anticipated to see her crush.

After a moment in thought, the door was knocked. Anne turned her head and smiled as she watched her crush, Lai Guanlin enter the class looking as handsome as always.

"Morning, happy birthday Anne!" he greeted and handed Anne a small box.

"Aw, thanks Guanlin. I wonder what's in this. I hope you didn't put anything weird in this box," she joked.

Guanlin laughed. "Don't worry, you'll like it. I won't give anything weird to a precious friend of mine."

"Well, if you say so." She opened the box and in the box, it was a box full of Hershey's. "Oh My God, Thanks Guanlin! You're the best friend I've ever had."

"You're welcome." He curtsied and smiled. It melts her everytime he smiles. I can't wait to tell Min Joo what happened, she thought.

Guanlin was one of Anne's closest friends and sometimes she felt wrong for liking him. Well, she was a girl so it was normal to fall for a guy as charming as Guanlin even if he was a friend of hers.

Who wouldn't fall for Guanlin? He's good looking, cute, funny, tall, friendly and caring as well, she once thought.

Although she believed that she would never have a chance with him since he only treats her as a friend. It hurts Anne whenever he tells people that she was only a friend.

Anne went back to her seat and the class began to fill up as her classmates came, greeting her one by one. Anne started to became anxious and worried when her best friend, Jung Min Joo has not arrived yet. It was weird as she was always one of the early ones to arrive.

Anne laid her head on the desk, feeling disappointed on the day of her birthday as there was only two minutes left before class started.

Right when the bell rang, the door burst opened to Min Joo with a cake in her hand.

They all sang a happy birthday song while Anne stayed seated, touched with the surprise.

"Thank you so much, Min Joo. You made me worried when it seemed like you weren't coming to school. Well, I didn't expected anything from you but I feel so touched right now. Thanks again everyone," she blabbered.

She blew the candles as Guanlin got closer to stand next to her. He placed his right arm around her shoulder and she shuddered internally. She couldn't help but smile to herself.

"Our classmate is getting older guys, we should pay her some respect," Guanlin joked.

Anne lightly punched his stomach and laughed. "I'm not that old, okay? I know you're a few months younger than me but I'm still sixteen."

Guanlin giggled in response.

When it was finally breaktime, Anne and Min Joo were both at the cafeteria, having kimbap.

"Hey," Min Joo nudged Anne with her left elbow.

She raised my eyebrows at Min Joo in question.

"I realised something this morning. Do you perhaps, have someone that you like at the moment?" Min Joo asked.

Anne looked around the cafeteria before answering her question. Just to make sure that no one was listening.

Finally, Anne raised her shoulders and dropped them again immediately.

"Wow, it's true then. Guanlin?" Min Joo stated.

Anne chocked on her food as she covered Min Joo's mouth.

"Lower down your voice. Yeah it's true," Anne answered honestly.

"I cought you! How come you have never told me about this?"

"Just not ready to tell you yet?"

"Since when?"

"Last year."

"Oh My God. How can you never told me about this. That would be hard to fangirl over him by yourself."

"Why are you even thinking about that?" I chuckled. "The thing is it's not a big thing. It's just a normal crush. I'm not expecting anything,"Anne explained.

Min Joo raised her eyebrows, "Yeah right, like I can believe that."

"Well, you're right. I'll be lying to myself if I said I didn't expected anything," Anne sighed.

It's a new year and part of it is gonna be sad because wanna one is...

I watched Produce 101 while it was on going and im truly sad.

However, i'm sure we're still here for them no matter what :D

Anyway, this fanfic is long overdue because I actually had it as a draft since August 2017 and now finally im publishing it in appreciation of Wanna One's time with us since last year.
