"Nyongu, it's time to go!"

Nyongu slowly rolled out of bed, his hair curly as ever. He walked to his dresser, picking out an outfit for himself. As he began to walk out the door, he grabbed his favorite bear, Kijo.

He greeted his father at the table, meeting face to face with a stack of pancakes. He sat down the the table, his doe eyes widening at the taste.

"Eat quickly, Nyongu. I need to get to work early today, and I don't want my boss to think
I'm skipping again."

He finished the pancake stack quickly, putting the dirty plate into the sink, before placing his Batman backpack over his shoulders.

Nyongu followed his dad out to the pricey vehicle his father owned, as he waited for him to unlocks the doors, he looked over the fresh
bruises around his wrist.

"Get in the car, Nyongu."

Nyongu quickly climbed into the back seat, buckling himself in. The seat belt rubbed against his sensitive chest, making him cringe in discomfort. Nyongu looked up at his father, staring at him, hoping that if he tried hard enough, maybe he'd disappear.

Nyongu and his father soon arrived at the sitter's house, grabbing the backpack and sliding it onto his shoulder's once again. He attempted to reach for his father's hand, yet didn't succeed. They met with a door, a tall man greeting his father.

"Hello, Mr. Kim! How's your wife doing?"

Nyongu's father looked down, faking a sad expression. Nyongu kept his mouth shut, not wanting his father to scold him in front of the stranger.

"Well, Jongi is doing okay, but she's still in the hospital."

"Oh, I'm very sorry to hear that."

The strangers attention went to Nyongu, the man bent down to meet his height. Nyongu felt a bright blush paint it's way over his freckled face, looking down at the stairs.

"Hey, I'm Mirae, how about you?"

"I-I'm Nyongu.."

"Well, Nyongu, we're going to have a great time today!"
