What Lies Within A Kingdom

Chapter Twenty

"What have you done?" Kaira asked in tears covering her mouth with her hands.

Sarah laughed and simply said that who ever did this wasn't her and then a figure came walking towards them. Coming from Nyx background. Kaira was in shock when she saw who it was, she couldn't understand, what was happening here. "Meira, what, what is going on?"she asked.

Meira wasn't dressed in the same clothes she had, this time she wore a black robe like the one Sarah was wearing. And in her eyes was nothing more then lust for blood. "Oh, hi mother. Father was looking for you. I didn't mean to start that fire back in that kingdom."

"That was you?"

Meira laughs and says that everything was her. That is when it hit her. The time she saw her in Shadow Claw, she knew of their mission, the boy that was hanged, making her go to the palace for a distraction, the attack at the beach, the attack in the village and now this. They planned it all, they knew her parents was going to kill themselves, they knew she was going to adopt Meira as her own. Everything that had happened to the family and the plan was all Meira's plan. She lead her to her aunt and her aunt to her. And that is why she was able to find me and why they escaped there alive.

"But why Meira, we took care of you.?"

"I thought that it would be obvious, to please and make my mother proud."

"Sarah, she's your mother?"

"Yes, my real name is Peria. And my mission is the opposite of the Yamanaka it is to distroy you."and with that Meira attacked Kaira, with a very strong spell.

Kaira that was heartbroken just couldn't get herself to hurt Meira, she didn't want to believe that Meira was the reason to her pain. She thought of how May-may, Nyraxa and Haru would take care of her and even make jokes. She thought of how Nyx had learned her how to fight and how he even came to,trust her. By the time Kaira got back to reality, Meira had already attacked her.

Kaira was to, late and couldn't block that attack and end up flying backwards and hit a huge old tree. Meira attacked once more and stabbed Kaira threw her stomach. Kaira screamed of the pain and cried not just for the pain, but because she had lost her child, she was about to die and by the hand of Meira. "Meira."was the last thing she said before closing her eyes.

"Kaira, what are you doing?"a voice said to her.

Kaira opened her eyes and was floating in blue water in the magic dimension. She was weak and couldnt stand. In the sky looking at her was Ling. "I have failed. I have failed Zathana, the once I lost, the once I love and myself. Please forgive me Ling."she said as her tears flowed down her cheeks.

"Now, now. Do not cry lost one. You have not failed yet. I will help you one more time, but this might even be a danger to you for you might die, doing this. Nyx, he is still alive, but he will soon die if you do not kill Sarah."

"But, Meira?"

"Leave her to me. When I wake you up, this is what you should do."and Ling began to explain what she should do.

Not long after that Kaira was back in reality and began the plan. She grabbed onto Meira's troat and chant a spell Ling had showed to her. Meira then vanished into dust. Kaira's next target was now Sarah. "But how, you were dead?" Sarah asked.

Sarah then realised that there was something different of Kaira. Kaira wasn't Kaira, but Ling himself. She was using the spell only those Ling trust with can have. The spell of the first witch and king ever to rule over Zathana.

Kaira's hair had turned more black with some pink lines in them, her eyes was glowing gold and her small pink flames was now mixed with silver, gold and black. Kaira was indeed the one that could kill Sarah. Kaira took out her Kitana and lunched for Sarah, Sarah blocked the attack , but it was to strong since it cut right threw her blade and made a scar at her cheek. Sarah jumped away from Kaira and stood a little back. But before she knew it Kaira was already attacking from behind and that made her blast at the same tree Kaira was.

Kaira slowly walked over to Sarah, making her blade touch the floor and that made it make a noise. "Don't, you dare come any closer or your husband will die."

Kaira stopped ,since Ling had said that he wouldn't be able to help her here, she had to do this on her own. Kaira stood there thinking what her move should be. She then looked behind her and thought of how she didn't want to loose him. And focused back onto Sarah. She had no choice, but to finish Sarah.

Just as she took a step Sarah had waved her hand that made Nyx land at her feet. She then held her hand above his head making her hand glow, that made Kaira know that she was going to kill Nyx if she went anyway closer to her.  Sarah saw that she wasn't going to stop moving to her, so she used her magic to lift Nyx allowed him to breath then began to torture him by making his body feel like it was being crushed. As Kaira saw this she could not take it anymore and went back to her normal form, Sarah then grabbed Kaira by her troat and began to choke her. "You're just like your mother, always care for others except for herself."

"Just let him go please."

With that Sarah let go of Nyx and put her focus back on Kaira that was about to close her eyes. "Pathetic."she said and threw her to land next to Nyx. As Kaira was lying next to her husband, she began to be emotional again. She forced herself to crawl to him, she placed her head on his chest and wept while apologising for everything that had happened since it was her fault for bringing Meira to the village after having a argument with him and for loosing his child. Just then she felt a hand touch hers, she looked and saw that it was him. Nyx was busy smiling at her and said that it was all going to be alright. He then whispered something in her ears and when Sarah turned around Kaira had stabbed her in her chest where her heart was and chant a spell what Ling had told her to do and Sarah started go glow and suddenly vanished after screaming.

When Kaira was sure Sarah had left she went back to Nyx and checked if he was breathing. When she saw he did she held onto him as if to make sure he wouldn't slip away from her. The dimension where they were collapsed and they were back in their world where they got help from the soldiers of Zathana. Kaira then told them of what had happened, they took Nyx and began to treat him. They left Kaira there since she told them, that he was the prince and that he needed the help. So they took him to the palace.

It was night time and Kaira had sneaked into the palace. She went over to Nyx room, to his bed and placed her hand onto his cheek. He then took her hand and gave it a kiss. "I was wondering when you were going to come."he then saw that Kaira had been crying and was dressed in her Samurai robes instead of the royal Kimono. "Kaira?"

"Shhh, I love you."

"What are you..."

"Take care of the kingdom for me, Prince."she then gave him a kiss and while kissing him she put a spell that she used to make him fall back asleep and when he woke up he wouldn't remember her or anything that had happened. He would wake up as the king of Zathana, she couldn't stay there was a lot of answers that she knew she wouldn't find here. After kissing him, she jumped out of the balcony and left Zathana.

When she was sure she was far enough from Zathana, she looked back and saw the kingdom. She allowed a tear to drop, but wiped it  away knowing that she had left Zathana in good hands and that it wasn't good bye. She would see Nyx again and would have the answers she need. She then felt something form around her neck. It was the neckless she had given Meira. "Ling, can I have permission to leave?"

"Where you go, I go. "He said and the heart of the neckless turned into a golden dragon. She smiled and held onto her neckless. "I will be back, but for now. Goodbye Zathana."

And with that she left. Knowing that one day she would return and reclaim her fathers kingdom. When she was ready, but for now she needed her answers.
