The two crossed the last bridge finnaly making it to the city in ruins. Stray gunfire could be heard from all directions which shook Fiona to the core, Erin on the other hand was unphased. "Turn the radio off were almost there." He sighed pulling his rifle off his back. Fiona followed orders and shut of the radio, she found the signal as they'd been walking, she thought the nervous host was adorable. Fiona mimicked Erin's action by grabbing her shotgun holding it up. With every gun shot she jumped, Erin let out a aggravated sigh as he turned to her pushing the barrel of her shotgun down. "Just stay close, don't waste ammo." He glared, she quickly nodded. They continued to walk a little slower than before, Erin seemed more cautious than earlier. Fiona felt incredibly uneasy, she heard a strange noise behind her but kept her gaze dead on Erin's back trying her best not to freak out. Suddenly she heard a strained groan far too close, along with a stinging scratch on her calf. Erin whipped around as she screamed kicking at the rotting creature clasped to her leg. She fell back into Erin who looped his arm around her middle yanking her out of its grasp, before loading a couple rounds into its head. Several more of the monsters lunged at the pair at incredible speed. Fiona desperately clung to Erin's side as he finished them off. It was quiet disregarding the street gunfire.
Fiona's chest heaved as she look down at her leg deep scratches covered her calf. She abruptly shoved herself away from Erin clutching her arms. "Oh my god, oh my god it scratched me! Am I gonna turn into a zombie!?!" She cried "ghoulification isn't contagious dumbass. Let's go." He grunted beginning to walk off. "Wait no don't leave me!" She shouted jogging after him. She made an extra effort to walk closer. "You didn't have to be so rough you know." She pouted rubbing her side where he'd grabbed her. "Ah my bad I'll let the ghouls eat you next time." Fiona wanted to come back with a witty remark but figured it's better not to get oh his nerves anymore than she already is.

we were getting closer to the stadium but at the same time the gun fire was getting louder and louder. Erin continued forward anyway. I's this guy deaf? I scanned around to try to get a better understanding of what's going on, only to see a full blown firefight ahead. Without noticing my pace had dropped. "Ugh its mutants, I'm gonna help security clean this up, just stay behind the barrier- MOVE!" Snapping out of my daze I dove into a nearby building that Erin waved too. I peered out the shattered window to see what was going on. A huge green hound had latched it's obscurely large jaw around Erin's right arm. I clasped my hand over my mouth, shaking in my hiding spot. He shouted some colourful words before stabbing the beast with the bayonet of his gun several times. The dog released his arm stumbling to the ground as Erin shot it multiple times through the head. I flicked my gaze to his arm that now looked like shredded cheese. I wanted to vomit watching him shake the blood off. He quickly turned around and began jogging towards the fight. I stumbled out of the building and ran to catch up, he had already started shooting at the other mutants that were more humanoid looking yet still huge and green. As I got behind him I tried looking around to see how I could help. There were men, presumably the security Erin has mentioned scattered shooting at the mutants too. Erin turned to a split second before aggressively shoving me back. "What- AH" the back of my legs hit a barrier and I stumbled onto my back behind it. Anger bubbled up inside of me, my face felt hot. I wanted to yell at him, but I instead pulled out my shotgun. I made sure it was loaded before hopping over the barrier and unloading into the mutants.

They were wiped out in no time. After noticing there was no more gun fire I tried back over to Erin, who was talking to the security. "Not afraid of mutants huh? Our type'a gal." One of the nodded to me, I shyly smiled and returned to Erin's side. "Well you two should head into the city, it was good to see ya Erin, thanks for the help man." Another one said reaching out to shake Erin's hand. He nodded and clasped the man's hand who immediately pulled back "ew, man you need to get that looked at." He pointed to Erin's mauled arm. I fought a laugh as he awkwardly put his arm down. The security despersed and Erin and I were left along. After a second of awkward silence he clapped his hand on my shoulder hard enough to jolt me. "So you're not totally useless." He sounded less harsh than his normal tone, I couldn't help but smile widely.  Oh my god that was a complement right!!?
