I looked outside my window, tears running down my cheeks. Rain fell heavily on the roof of the house and on the ground below. I just had another fight with Sarah, a friend of mine. What it was over? I didn't really remember.I was sniffling. Why am I shedding tears over this? I need to just move on with my life! That's what I wanted to get through my head, but it was though every sing failure I've had rammed into me instead. More tears spilled out.
I hugged my pillow just as a heard a familiar ding. I peered over at my phone and saw a new message from Maddy, a dear friend of mine.
Hey Mel...everything alright...?
I put in the password on my phone and wiped my eyes as I replied: No...
What happened...?
I told her about what had happened as the rain seemed to get heavier.
Oh... *hugs tightly*
How I missed the days when I could just hug my friends...I missed everything about them. Their warmth. Their voices. I'd do anything sometimes just to hear them scold me.
We talked for a little while more, her comforting me, me calming down, and even the both of us laughing at a few jokes.
