Amelia
My breathing is heavy as I make it to the doors of the Great Kingdom Hall. My horse had ran away while I was spying on my father and the other men. I take a deep breath in and out as I brush off any dirt at the tip of my dress. My hair was styled with a braid that started at the front of my head and ended into a bun at the back but it is probably messy now and my clothes are probably creased and muddy but I don't care. My coronation isn't important to me.
I place my hands on the door handles and swing the large wooden door open. I slowly walk down the hall, hoping I don't bump into my father along the way. Or anybody. I tiptoe lightly as I pass other rooms filled with curious men and woman.
I finally reach the Coronation ceremony and the doors are already open. Loud talking echoes the room as everyone chatters away. Guards stand at the front of the room in a circle but my father and my uncle are no where to be seen.
I enter the room with an ashamed look on my face. I never should have left, what is the town going to think of me?
The chatters slowly die off and faces turn toward me. The guards immediately crowed me and shoot questions, all at once.
"Where were you?"
"Are you alright?"
"Why did you leave?"
"Is someone bothering you?"
"We have to continue your Coronation."
"Don't worry princess everything is a-"
"-ENOUGH!" I shout as loud as I can and everything abruptly stops making any noise what so ever, "I don't want to be queen!"
Everyone gasps.
"But Princess, it's a necessity." A guard replies.
"My father is still alive, he is still capable of ruling, why do I have to?" My eyes filled with tears so I hurried my face in my hands to cover my foolish emotions.
"Amelia!" I turn around and see James runs toward me, "is everything ok?" He pulls me into a hug but I don't hug back.
"Umm, yeah." I try not to fall apart.
"How about we head outside alone so you can have some rest?" He was always suggesting we leave alone. I used to go with him but then I grew over it.
"No thanks James." I folded my arms over my chest trying to gain control over my emotions.
"Darling!" I hear my father shout but I ignore it, "are you hurt? Where were you?" He attempted to wrap his arms around me but I dodged it. I looked into his eyes and I wished he could see how much I was struggling with this. How much I didn't want this. But he never listened to me. He thought he knew me but he never listened so how could he?
"I'm sorry." I whine as I turn and run for my life. I run down the hall, right, left, right, and exit the building. I hear clanks of metal which means the guards are chasing me down.
I grab a horse and jump right on. I slap the rains onto it's back making it neigh and gallop. There are many mountains in Sheffield but I am not going to live a caveman life. I am temporarily going to live in an old building, if I can find one anywhere.
I take sharp turns right and left, trying to escape the sight of the men who are chasing me. Hiding in dark areas and large objects but no matter what, the men always seem to find me.
After a few minutes I look behind me and the men are no where in sight. I quickly jump off my horse and run into an old fabric store. I hide among the different dresses and peep outside the window. My eyes scan the area and watch as the men inspect the horse and turn into the complete opposite direction that I am in. Easier than I thought.
