For you, Valentine's Day had never been different from any other day of the month. That is, until you met the older Shimada brother.
You met him by pure coincidence when you first arrived in Hanamura. You were wandering through the streets and couldn't find your way home. Preoccupied and without knowing with who you were talking to, you asked the young archer for help. He looked at you coldly at first, but eventually decided to help you out. Later, when you discovered that the boy was part of the Shimada clan, you couldn't help but still feel attracted to him.
You had to let those overwhelming feelings out somehow, and homemade chocolate seemed like the best way to do it. But Hanzo wasn't like his brother at all -- he spent most of his time training in the dojo, so finding him in the city was no easy feat.
You walked through the city and walked, twiddling with the small package full of sweets in your hands, until the sun began to set, but you weren't able to find the boy you were looking for. You sighed, giving up on your plan. Before going back home, though, you decided to pass by a peaceful and quiet road and admire the sunset. Watching it always made you feel better.
When you arrived at the special place, you were surprised to see that someone was already there. A feeble "Hello." came out from your lips. As you hid the chocolate, you moved next to your interlocutor. "I didn't know people still used this road." he stated , giving you a quick look.
You couldn't believe what you had just seen -- the boy next you was exactly who you were looking for!
"H-Hanzo?" you stuttered. The black haired boy looked at you and raised an eyebrow. "Do I know you?" he asked. You shook your head. "Um, y-you see... You probably don't remember this but you helped me finding my way back home some time ago." you nervously confessed, twirling a brand of your hair around your finger.
The boy scanned your face with his stoic chestnut eyes. "You're that (y/n) girl, correct?" he inquired. "Yes!" you exclaimed, a little bit too joyfully. "If I can ask... Why are you here?" you tried to change to subject to hide your overjoyed response.
Hanzo looked sternly into the sunset. "The city is chaotic. I like to spend the little time I am allowed to have outside the dojo in peaceful places like this one." he admitted. "It must be tough training all day..." you blurted out. Your eyes widened as you quickly covered your mouth and turned to him to see his reaction.
"It surely isn't easy." he oddly admitted, letting out a tired sigh. "And what are you doing here? Are you perhaps lost again?" Hanzo asked, a bittersweet smile forming on his sleep that made your heart and mind go numb. "No, actually I come here o-often... But um, there's something I wanted to give you." you said, even though you had little to no control over what was coming out of your mouth.
You retrieved the package of chocolate from your bag and tendered it to him. He stared at it, notably surprised by its presence, and slowly picked it up from your hands. "I-It's just a thank you gift for that time!" you said but your warm, flustered cheeks didn't give much credibility to your phrase. "Anyway, I have to go back home, so, um, see you around." you rapidly added, "And good luck with your training." you managed to mumble before running away from there at full speed.
Hanzo let out a frustrated sigh. Even though he had tried his best all day to avoid these kind of things they still managed to find a way to him. He admitted his defeat and opened the package to try the so long hated chocolate.
He swallowed it and let out a slightly satisfied sound.
In the end, the sweet he swore he would have never tasted wasn't half bad.
