The same words kept going through my head over and over again.
Dear Cal,
I have been concerned about your health. I have been recently informed that you have made a "friend" in London. You were never the reckless child. You know my rules. No Cupid ever, ever gets matched. I will give you an option: You deal with the girl or I send the Arrows to deal with her. You know how loyal they tend to be. You are smart, Cal. Make the wise decision. Love, Your MotherMy stomach knotted with guilt at what was to come but I pushed it back. This was what was best for both of us. I looked up at the white brick built mansion with stone statues and a wide garden that spread out across the entire property. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed knocking on the dark oak door. For a few moments nothing happened then the door cracked open revealing slick blonde hair and a large pair of blue eyes. Amena's eyes widened and she quickly opened the door the rest of the way.
"Come in."
I stepped into the entry way as she quickly closed the door behind me and locked it. I felt her eyes on me, burning holes into the back of my neck.
"Do you remember what I first called you?" I asked.
I heard her chuckle, "You called me Crystal because of the jewels I was wearing." She paused, "Cal, why are you asking me this?"
I turned to meet her gaze and stepped forward pulling her into my arms. She immediately relaxed into them and my guilt increased.
"I'm so sorry Amena."
She gasped and stumbled back. The black tip of the arrow plunged into her spine. Her face was sheet white and her eyes were wide and disbelieving.

I gasped and sat up, rubbing my eyes and trying to get rid of the memory. I was still sitting on my desk with papers scattered around me and a bit of drool staining the desk.
"Dreaming about your dream girl, brother?" an amused voice called.
I groaned and lifted my head catching sight of Cupid in the doorway. I narrowed my eyes at him and his smile grew.
"Be quiet, Cupid."
