'Thank you, Lydia, for coming.' Mahdia huffed happily as Lydia entered her room. Mariam and Mrs. Siddiqui were ready, only Mahdia was the one dancing around wrapped in a white and blue towel. From past half hour, she couldn't decide what to wear. Lydia luckily got a dress for her.

'I had to come to the rescue of the damsel in distress.' Lydia joked. Mahdia smiled at her and leaned forward taking her in a tight embrace, silently thanking her. Lydia hugged her back.

'You want to know the main reason I agreed to come for the house-warming party?' Mahdia looked at her curiously. 'I just wanted to meet Ahyan and see for myself if that man is good for you or not.' Lydia shrugged.

'Aww....' Mahdia hugged Lydia again.

'This!' Mahdia stared wide-eyed at a noodle strapped black lacy short cocktail dress with cowl back.

'Yes! It is sexy.' Lydia winked

'In case you have forgotten Ma is coming with us, and she won't like so much skin show.' Mahdia sounded slightly frightened.

Lydia rolled her eyes, 'Babes, she was the one who selected the dress.' Mahdia's jaw dropped open.

'Your mother knows you better, she kind of guessed herself you like this guy and she wants to meet him for you know grilling, that day she couldn't grill him.' Lydia flashed an amused smile at Mahdia. With the revelation, Mahdia felt nervous. What if her mother doesn't like Ahyan?

Why do parents want to poke their nose and complicate things? Mahdia thought bitterly.

Mahdia felt uncomfortable as she looked at her open back in the mirror, 'Are you sure?' Mahdia glanced nervously at Lydia who nodded before hitting Mahdia with her hips. She gasped moving to her side, Lydia admired herself in her mirror. She adjusted her baby pink sweetheart neck off shoulder pencil dress reaching till her mid-thigh. Mahdia eyed her enviously. Lydia always said Mahdia had an awesome figure but looking at her slim figure and toned legs Mahdia felt complex. What if Ahyan liked Lydia? But then that will show his true colors. Mahdia is in double minds. She thought to herself, whatever happens, happens for the best. So best will happen.

'How much longer?' Mariam came into the room. She is dressed in a red shimmering frock, her hair tied in a loose ponytail resting on her shoulder. She also has matched her attire with shining red shoes.

'Just have to finish with your Aunt's hair and make-up.' Lydia replied with a bob pin stuck in between her teeth.

'Maddy, the cloth behind your back is missing.' Mariam commented, a frown on her face. Mahdia and Lydia looked at each other and then started to laugh. Mariam felt offended, she didn't understand what was so funny.

Mariam stood beside Mahdia and watched Lydia do her hair. Mahdia's dress little loose, little of her cleavage shown and as Lydia bend to pick up more pins little of her cleavage exposed too. Mariam looked at her Aunt and Lydia and then looked down at her own chest. She touched it and frowned.

'When am I getting those?' she asked.

'What baby?' Mahdia said applying kohl in her eyes.

Mariam opened her mouth but closed her mouth deciding otherwise. Instead, she said, 'Never mind, just make this quick.' She then turned around walking away. Once out of the room, she peeped into her dress and sighed.

'Done!' Lydia took a step back. Mahdia looked at her reflection. Like always, Lydia has done an excellent job. Mahdia looked classy and smart with an elegant French twist with few strands side parted and fell across her forehead. Blood red glossy lipstick, dark black kohl enhancing her light brown eyes, slight blush, and silver danglers. She wore a delicate silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant. But the best accessory was her nose stud. She smiled at her reflection and then at Lydia.

'Oops, be careful.' Lydia helped Mahdia as she struggled with her heels. Mahdia is okay with platform heels but these sharp heels, the stiletto is pure torture. She secretly prays she doesn't mess up.

'Awesome.' Mrs. Siddiqui complimented, Mariam just gaped at her Aunt in disbelieve. Mahdia blushed. She turned her head to look at Lydia and mouthed a thank you and a sorry. Lydia blinked at her slowly and flashed her BFF a reassuring smile.
