The beast among them all

I dropped to the floor in a rush I couldn’t take a blink. My bubble floated away and I could breathe normally and walk normally. The room was filled with a hallway of glowing lights which lead to another door. I approached the door and it must have sensed the locket because they both glowed and it lifted up my locket as well and the door opened. Inside there was a small chest on a stand in the middle of a small room. I opened the chest and inside was the most beautiful thing, a solid silver band with a solitary diamond set with two smaller diamonds on either side. It would have been the most expensive ring ever! I grabbed the ring box with the ring inside it and ran to the first door.

I took a big breath hoping that groaning noise wouldn’t come after me. I took my bubble from the top of the roof which was floating water with a spell on it so it wouldn’t come into the cave. I also got a bubble and put it around the ring box. I then took a run for it. I opened the door and swam as fast as I can out of the darkness and as quiet as I can. I got at the end of the passageway and started to swim up to the rock arc, I was about 100 metres away until I stopped swimming so I could hear if anything was behind me swimming. Swish… Swash…swish swash, swish swash! It got faster and faster and I started swimming as fast as I could and I just got a glance back at this ferocious beast swimming after me who obviously hasn’t had a meal in a while. My heart was beating 100miles an hour and it was trying to bite me but it missed each time, I got out my knife and when it took a bite at me I sliced my knife across its neck, it yelped in pain and in reaction it scratched my arm and also stopped to recover. I swam as fast as I can even my pain was bearable I made it to the arc and swam in it and I needed to lock it, the beast was getting closer and closer and I was struggling to find the right way to put in the necklace and the beast was backing up to take a whole bite and when he swam up to me 100 miles an hour I just got the necklace in which made the beast bang into the force-field right in front of my eyes. I got out of the water out of breath and n pain but I still managed to give her a smile. I got the rig box out of my pocket and gave it to her, her eyes lit up like bright lights in the city with a face of joy and happiness and memories.

‘Oh thankyou thankyou thankyou my dear!’ She said kissing my cheeks and squeezing me like a lemon. She opened it and her eyes filled up with joy.

‘Your most welcome! It is so beautiful, what’s your story? I curiously asked.

‘Oh! Your arm, you poor dear, let me get that for you..’

‘Oh it fine, I’m fine!’ I said.

‘No you’re not!’ she said while she bandaged it up and took out a sigh.

‘My husband gave that to me at the altar, 20years later he passed away, he hid the ring so it wouldn’t be stolen, but that beast was a problem for me.  I needed to find someone who I could count on and who was strong and looking for a risk and I had been watching you to see if you were brave enough to do this adventure, which you were, I can’t thank you enough!’ She said with tears in her eyes, she walked to the gem pile, and pushed a button on her device, and dug into her stash and got a beautiful diamond and a ruby and carefully put them in a sack and handed it to me with a smile. ‘Thankyou’ she said with a smile.

I was so grateful and thanked her. She was leading me the way out of the volcano down these tunnels and told me that she chose me, I will never forget this beautiful place, besides the beast, but all the wonders and mysteries behind it, it’s a memory I will never forget.

‘Oh I think you might want your necklace back!’

‘No, it’s yours now.’ She smiled.
