My mother’s phone call at work that morning changed everything.
“Can you come home early. We’ve made a decision wanted to talk to you about it.” I knew what that meant. And there was no getting out of it.
An arranged marriage is not the difficult it once was. It has evolved over the years into a meeting of mutual consent between both parties, and my parents wanted to see me happily settled in my life. As I had done my graduation and I also got good job which pays me enough to fulfil by all wishes and according to them it was the time when I should get married soon.
They had made my profile in a matrimony website but i didn't agreed to them. Problem was, I wasn’t prepared about it.
I always thought "Will my arranged marriage be successful? How will be our first night after the marriage? Would my partner be compatible with me? Will I be able to handle the responsibility? Love marriage or arranged marriage?" Many such questions keep coming in the mind of thousands times.
My parents never do anything against my wish but as all parents they also had many dreams for my marriage. I can't just crash their dreams just because of my insecurities. I know they are correct on their part and I also know they will not do anything against my wish.
My mother had informed me once I was leaving from office that they selected a guy and was looking forward to get me introduced to him. But I was really nervous.
"How can a single meeting can decide our future? Was I ready to get married to a total stranger? Will he like me the way I am? Or I have to change myself for him?" These questions was coming up on my mind. I really don't know how will all things go. I was afraid to meet the stranger which my mother had selected for me from a matrimony site.
