Afternoon
The sky was grey and dull, covered with a thick layer of puffy clouds and the chance of rain was high. A lost teenager that goes by the name of Jeon Jeongguk stands in front of his future part time job, calling his mother while doing so.
The boy wore a white button-up shirt, that was buttoned up all the up to his small neck, little black shorts that stopped at the knee, and a black slim black tie that wrapped around his neck to complete his look.
His neat attire wasn't to his liking, but merely to his strict mother's. His get-up wasn't the only thing that was organized and neat. His dark brown hair that sprouted from his very scalp, was parted and gelled down vigorously, making it look nearly as flat as his actual head. Not one single hair was pointing up. Jeongguk's mother thought it looked presentable and suitable, Jeongguk didn't have the audacity to change it, nor did he know any better.
Jeongguk couldn't deny that he feared his mother. He and his mother are the only ones in his immediate family. Jeongguk is an only child and his father left a couple of years ago, leaving Jungkook and his mother to fend for themselves.
Jeongguk's slim finger presses the call button on his cellphone, bringing the device up to ear slowly, listening as he hears the series of ringing sounds, waiting for his mother to pick up, looking around him as he does so.
She finally picks up the phone at the last ring, "Mum?" Jeongguk questions as his voice echoes through the phone line.
"What is it Jeongguk?" Jeongguk's mum answers with a bored tone, sounding like she didn't have the time or care.
"I'm starting my new job today, so don't expect me to be back home early, okay?" Jeongguk states calmly, not wanting his mum to freak out of anything, standing outside the ice cream parlour, examining the area as he talked into the phone.
His mother groans in annoyance, "I told you, you don't need a job. You should be at home studying, instead of wasting your time at some stupid ice cream shop serving complete strangers." she argues in a nasty, insincere tone.
Jeongguk inhales, he had been through this conversation numerous times yet his mum still insisted to telling him not to go, he wanted to do something for himself once in awhile.
"I told you already. I want to be independent and earn my own money for once." Jeongguk says, his mum always being the one to pay for things for him, kicking a small rock that was sitting in front of his shoe.
"Whatever. Just be back in time to study." Jeongguk's mum finishes, hanging up without saying goodbye.
Jeongguk rolls his eyes, pulling the phone down to his eye view, switching it off and slipping it back in his pocket.
His stares at the front entrance of the ice cream parlour. He had to be confident. This was his new job as well as his first job ever.
He begins to walk into the parlour, pushing the glass door open, a creaking sound created as it swung open, the cool air of ice cream blaring in Jeongguk's face.
The first thing his eyes meet are mostly empty seats, the rest were filled by people eating ice cream, along with a long array of different flavours and colours of ice cream curving across the ice cream parlour, glass covering it. The parlour had a pastel theme, and its aroma consisted of sweet flavours that made your nostrils feel cold whilst you inhaled the coldness of the parlour.
He looks at the front counter to see a fairly tall male standing behind it, pressing buttons on the cashier. He had untouched, silky dirty brown hair. Jeongguk walks closer to see a familiar looking face. He remembers the familiar face from his high school. He was a senior and finished school last year. Kim Namjoon. He even remember the guy's name.
