I think it had been four years. Four years since I was trapped here. At first I was horrified – the state I was in was awful. I was incredibly unstable, yet my friends stuck around. I don't deserve friends like them.

The first to welcome me to wonderland was Hatter. We had long conversations, many of which were composed of his maniacal laughter. The white rabbit drank tea with us, although for the longest time he was busy judging me. March hare was always teasing me, yet I knew he liked me more than white rabbit.

The queen of hearts had simmered down her reign of terror. She would still capture anyone who dared to cross her path, though.

Absolem explained a lot to me. We were sitting on a mushroom that morning. He was too tired to speak and I was far too busy reminiscing to speak to him. The flowers began to do their morning whispering hymns. Absolem sighed. "I never did ask you what it was like up there."

I looked at him, confused. "Why wonder about that when it's so much better down here," I said. We both went silent after our short conversation, but it was enough to make me forget what memories I was recalling. I sighed softly, resting my head on my knees. "They're coming."

I looked back at Absolem and we both hid under the mushroom. We waited for a few minutes before I whispered, "Are they still there?"

"Don't worry, it's just me," a voice said from behind us. We turned around and saw Madigan licking his lips, inching closer to us. "How's it hanging, guys?"

"You have no problem with being a freak, do you?" Absolem said. Madigan bit his lip and smirked. "Have you spoken to Mad Hatter at all?"

"Nope," he said, leaning back and crossing his legs, "I haven't heard from him in, let's see... four months?"

I nodded. "I've been worried about him since-"

"Why are we still under this mushroom?" Absolem yelled, crawling back on top the mushroom. Hatter Madigan chuckled and joined him, so I did too. "I was saying that I've been worried about him since his little... episode."

Madigan's smirk grew into a large smile. Absolem let out a heavy sigh. "I'm sure Hatter is fine."

"What do you mean? I'm right here," Madigan said. Absolem shook his head. "Not you, Hatter Madigan, the Mad Hatter, the man we've been discussing."

"Oh. Yea." We all sat in silence, staring up at the sky. The flowers' singing had gotten a little louder by now.

"I'm gonna go see him," I said. "He was very kind to me when I first got here, and he helped me through a lot. I'm going to do the same for him."

"He's gone mad," Madigan laughed, "you won't be able to help him any."

"Yea, well... I guess we'll see."
