"It was a success." Crystal smiled and turned to look at Alyssa, who smiled back.

"How'd you know about the soldiers destroying his base at Topeka?" Levi asked.

"You all have been gone for a whole day, the soldiers raided the base. Luckily, none of you were there but the ingredients were. So Angels were sent to eradicate the threat as that's how I came to know. I teleported the car here."

"Thank you." Alyssa gratefully nodded.

"Yes, couldn't have lost them all again." Levi said and grabbed the bag out from the window.

All the three ingredients were intact.

"It's my job," Crystal chuckled, "anyways, where do you think Robb is going then? Obviously not his base camp."

"He said he'll set up another. Maybe nearby here only, in Arizona." Levi said.

"You guys are good now?" Crystal asked hopefully. Her eyes lit up with happiness.

Levi glanced at Alyssa before replying, "he's doing his thing, we'll do ours. That's about it."

Alyssa took the bag from him. "We did get these babies back. I don't think there's more bad blood than usual."

Levi shrugged.

Crystal frowned. "I don't.. understand.. can you please answer yes?"

Alyssa laughed. "It's both a yes and a no, Crystal."

"But," Levi interrupted, "we couldn't have done this without him.. and you. So.. thanks."

Alyssa looked down at the dry ground under her feet and made circles on it.

"No need to thank me. I can't even remove these marks on you." Crystal pouted and traced her finger on his arm along the black marks.

Alyssa looked up at the marks as well.

"Ah, it's okay." Levi dismissed it.

"You should go. Don't stay at a place too long." Crystal looked up at Levi and then back at Alyssa.

Levi squinted his eyes to look at Alyssa as the sun was shining right behind her, creating a silhouette of her.

"Okay. See you soon." Alyssa said and walked over to the other side of the car.

"Be safe." Levi said as he passed Crystal to get in the driver's seat.

Crystal waved them goodbye and disappeared.

Levi sighed and slammed the door shut. Alyssa was already in.

"Well, that was.." He trailed off.

"She nearly had us both."

"Especially me." Levi shook his head as if the idea terrified him.

"Hey, I just wanted to say that I was wrong for pushing you away.. again.. it was just-"

"I understand." Levi interrupted. "I literally left you, anyone would've thought of it was backstabbing."

"But you had your reasons."

"So did you. Even for the Robb thing, you had doubts so you couldn't talk to me. Both of us couldn't. The mistake was on both of us but not exactly our fault. If that makes sense."

Alyssa laughed. "It does somehow."

Levi laughed too. "Good. We're back then."

Alyssa felt a sharp sensation. She was again letting him in. Her laugh turned to a mere smile.
