“What the fuck, Walter?”
“Eenya!” screamed the long haired one. The scream forced Strider and Elena to halt their horses and turn around. They were shocked to see Eenya lying on the ground. The long haired black dressed one jumped off her horse and helped Eenya get up,
“You okay, sweetie?” she asked.
“I’m fine, Zeina.” assured Eenya, then faced Walter and continued,
“What is in your hand, Walter?”
“Uh--This is a manacle Mary gave…apparently, it protects from various monsters. Why?” asked Walter.
“It has monskwood, doesn’t it?”
Every one turned and looked at Walter.
Walter eyeballed them nervously and ambiguously said, “Yeah—I--I think so.”
Eenya then exposed her fangs beneath her teeth which were visibly sharp and pointed and said,
“We’re werewolves, honey. Me and Zeina”
Walter stood confused still. He had come to the conclusion that Dreamire consisted of various creatures, humans, monsters and all. He himself had assumed that these creatures were monsters and evil. He hadn’t realized he was riding with the two of them.
“I’m sorry” apologized Walter, “I didn’t know”
Eenya scoffed and then she and Zeina jumped on their respective horses and started to ride.
“Awkward” whispered Elena to Walter.
“Yeah…funny” he said continuing,
“Are they together? Eenya and Zeina?”
“Yes, been together since forever ago.” replied Elena.
The four of them then silently followed Strider. Strider was up front, behind him rode Zeina and Eenya talking to each other. Behind the two rode Walter and Elena speaking to each other.
Back on the Earth,
Layle knocked on Boug’s door. Boug lifted his head and signaled him in. All their coworkers were present in the firm, so Boug signaled Layle to close the door. Layle had a suitcase with him, in which he had the ingredient that he was supposed to retain. He sat on a chair and asked,
“What was so urgent, Boug?”
“Walter. He’s in Dreamire.” replied Boug sipping his bourbon.
Layle stood up at once widening his eyes and disbelief written all over him. He was having a difficult time finding the words to express, after some time, he said,
“Who invited him?”
“Not sure” said Boug and continued,
“We have to tell him. The meeting is tomorrow, is it not?”
“Yes, it is. Did Katherine come up with the last ingredient?” asked Layle.
“Yes. I have it with me. Tomorrow evening we will tell him. When is the resurrection supposed to take place?”
“We will know later tomorrow” said Layle sweating as he was somehow afraid for Walter’s visit to Dreamire.
Layle stood up, before leaving he was interrupted by Boug who said,
“Oh and yes, Jack Crowe knows that we are aware of his bargain”
“He’s fired then, I take it?” asked Layle.
