As the carriage finally pulled into the front courtyard of Weisberg castle, the door swung open, revealing a small statured man with red hair and auburn eyes. His appearance could be mistaken for that of a child, but make no mistake, he was a full-grown man. And he was to be the Royal Tutor to the four princes. His name was Heine Wittgenstein. As he approached the gates to the palace, he found himself suddenly stopped by the two soldiers standing guard.
"Hold it there boy" the blonde guard, Ludwig, stated. Heine looked up at him, his expression innocent curiosity.
"Boy? Who do you mean?" Heine asked, honestly confused.
"You of course! You can't just enter the castle without permission" declared the more energetic guard, Maximillian. Heine instantly pouted, reaching for the letter tucked away into his coat pocket.
"But I do have permission, you see- I'm the Royal Tutor...." Heine began, about to pull out the letter before both the guards suddenly began patting his head.
"Ah, you must be the Royal Tutor's son!" Maximillian declared, beaming happily as he patted Heine's head. Ludwig did the same, fawning over Heine.
"Aw, aren't you a good boy, coming here to work with your Papa. But you'll have to wait for your Papa to come before we can let you in" Ludwig added, not seeing the pout that formed on Heine's face as he puffed his cheeks like a chipmunk.
"What's going on out here?" called out a frail feminine voice, an elderly lady with blonde hair stepping out. The guards and Heine immediately bowed in response.
"Queen Mother!" the guards exclaimed, kneeling before her. She stepped out, beaming a smile as she spotted Heine, clapping her hands together.
"Oh, there you are, Professor Heine!" she declared, not noticing the looks of utter disbelief on the guards as they stared at Heine. Heine bowed his head before standing up and following the Queen Mother. He stopped, turning to glance back at the guards.
"Allow me to introduce myself again. I am Heine Wittgenstein, the Royal Tutor. And despite my appearances, I am a full-grown man" he snapped, glaring darkly at the guards.
"We're so sorry!!" they exclaimed, fearful for their lives and probably their jobs.
--
"I'm so sorry about that Professor, I should've told them in advance" the Queen Mother apologised, leading Heine to the room where the Princes all waited. Heine followed behind quietly, carrying his briefcase.
"It's quite alright. I'm already well accustomed to being mistaken for a child" Heine reassured her. The Queen Mother stopped suddenly, turning to Heine before grasping his hand in hers.
"Professor, I beg of you! Please be patient with the princes and help them! To tell you the truth, all of their royal tutors resign quickly..." the Queen Mother begged. Heine raised a brow in confusion.
"Forgive me for asking... but could there possibly be anything wrong with the Princes?" he asked, cautiously wording it to remove any offence. The Queen Mother stepped back, taken aback.
"O-Of course not! They're all extremely well-behaved Princes! Perhaps the tutors all left because there was nothing else they could teach them! That's the only reason I can possibly think of!" the Queen Mother explained, completely blinded by her love for her grandsons. Heine didn't buy it one bit.
"Grandmother, are you telling more lies to the Royal Tutor?" asked a feminine voice, causing both Heine and the Queen Mother to look down the hallway at the source. A young woman, with long wavy brown hair and blue eyes stepped out from the shadows and towards the two. She wore a blue dress, covered in lace and the finest decorations, hanging off her shoulders. Her skin was pale and creamy like milk, her appearance that of great beauty.
