Warmth.
All I felt was warmth.
It was a early Sunday morning.
The curtains were up, sun welcomed peace and comfort, the sound of wind-chimes rung in my ear like the soft whisper of an angel.
It was perfect.
It was like one of those mornings were your body's telling you that you've had plenty of sleep but you still sit there closing and opening your eyes ever so little to were you can see the light beam of sun between your eyelashes just every-so peacefully. Only 'till then, can you feel as if the sweet sound of a bird chirp can ring like a symphony.
And to top it all off the love of my life was laying right across from me. I could hear the light sound of calm breath next to me assuring a long sleep in. I saw my shot. I sit up slowly with a quiet ugly yawn. The type you have after a eye opening nap and feel as if the world is finally at peace. I stand up slowly and exit the room. To my surprise I peek into the little nursery to see little Lee still sound asleep. Although he had always been the chill one it was still a little bit of a surprise not to wake up to a toddler jumping on your stomach demanding waffles. Maybe I'd seen too many romantic comedies. I shrug it off with a gentle smile. I stretch and look in the fridge. It was so quiet you could hear a pen drop. But in a peaceful way. After a decent 3 minutes of thought I decide to make simple eggs. The tiny crackle of over-easy eggs made me cringe slightly but I was going to do this. After it was done cooking I heard the light tap of tiny feet like a sudden boost of adrenaline.
I turn around with tired eyes to see lil Lee in flower shorts holding the thumb of no one other than the universe, my love and life, Lena.
She greets me with a smile and I wave lightly.
"Mornin' Princess" I say awkwardly with a voice so raspy it could put Terezi to shame. She sits down with a chuckle as I set down some leftover boiled eggs (the only way Lee would eat them)
Lena cut one open into bits and began to feed Lee. He smiled softly before deciding to feed himself with his hands. I chuckled quietly as I began to cook another egg.
The thing that made this perfect was the silence. It's not that silent was rare or something in the household or sound bothered me. It was just the fact that it was so silent but it felt like I had just had an hour conversation. Maybe it was the sleepiness talking.
