I stand in the rain (2017)

I stand in the rain,
Cool droplets come
Through the warm blanket of air around me,
From oceans far,
And rivers close,
To kiss my sunny skin,
A sunset surrounding me,
Overflowing my heart with rich oranges,
And vivacious pinks,
Reviving my soul,
The rain running through my wild hair,
Refreshing the tired shell it clings to,
And returning the playful curl it once possessed,
I open my arms,
Embracing the bliss,
A feeling I had long forgotten,
I close my eyes and start to cry,
This is a gift,
The beauty that surrounds me,
The feeling of rain on my skin,
Youthful wonder restored,
By my bare feet entering a near by puddle,
The sound of laughter radiating from my lungs,
I am born anew.
