Mitch was not having a good day.
In fact, it could probably be mistaken for one of the worst days in his life.
Maybe even in history.
It all started -like most bad days do- with him being woken up, rather rudely, by one of his many friends.
----------------------- ------------------- -----------------------
"MITCHELL HUGHES THE BAJANCANADIAN!"
A voice echoed down the wing of the large base made entirely of Gold and Sandstone.
Mitch groaned into his pillow and threw his blankets over his head. Oh come on, and I was having such a good dream too.
"Mitch, I know you're in there! You can't stay there all day!"
The door to Mitch's room slammed open. Mitch threw his pillow in the doorway's general direction.
"It's 3 AM, Ty!" He whined at the man wearing headphones. Ty was one of his best friends, not to mention a fellow member of not only Team Crafted, but the Sky Army.
"The earlier bird gets the worm and we are so gonna get the BIGGEST WORM! NOW GET UP!"
Ty dramatically flipped the blankets off Mitch and dragged him off the bed by his left foot. Mitch stood, albeit hesitantly, and started to sift through the mess that was his room for some decent clothing. He could feel Ty's impatient gaze on his back.
In the end, he was forced to go with the same thing he always wore. A white shirt, checkered hoodie, dog tags, and jeans that were to big for him, complete with a belt.
"So... care to explain why you dragged me out of bed at 3 AM?"
Mitch asked Ty as the pair expertly wove through the many hall and stairways of the main Sky Army base to the private conference room that they had been instructed to go too.
"Oh, yeah, apparently some thing happened all the way down in Cornerstone City." Ty paused, as if he didn't exactly know what he was talking about. He probably doesn't. Mitch mused. Ty continued.
"Apparently, whatever happened set off these huge fights and protests. And now, from what I've heard, there are some wierd new laws that people are pressuring their governments into passing."
"What in Minecraftia could be so important that LAWS are being passed over it?"
Ty shrugged at Mitch's disbelieving question.
"I don't know, dude. But it must be an issue if Sky called a Team Meeting at 3 in the morning." Ty said as they reached the conference room.
------------------------- -------------------- --------------------------
It appeared as though no one else was happy about being woken up at such an inconvenient time either. Although Mitch and Ty (or rather just Mitch, as Ty had obviously been sent to get him) were the last ones to arrive, many of Mitch's friends were still half-asleep. Mitch glanced around the circular conference table, taking in the room's occupants.
On one side of the table: Ssundee, or Ian, and Truemu, or Jason, had coffee and were drinking it like it would save their lives.
On the other side of the table: Huskymudkipper, or Quentin, and Jerome, were slumped over on the table. Not even making an effort to stay awake.
Ty patted Mitch on the back, and then went to go join Ian and Jason. Mitch gave him a tired thumbs up, and crossed to the other side to sit where he usually sat.
As the Canadian seated himself down next to Jerome, his bestest friend out of all his best friends, he nudged Jerome's paw to let him know Mitch was now sitting there. Jerome flicked one of his bear-like ears in Mitch's direction to show acknowledgement, but did nothing more.
Mitch frowned with concern, Jerome usually at least muttered a greeting when Mitch sat down next to him.
"Hey, Biggums, are you okay-"
There was a thump; and Mitch looked up to see Skydoesmincraft, or Adam, stand up from where he'd been sifting through papers on the floor and slam them down on the table. His expression was grim.
"I know you might be angry with calling you together here at such an... unfortunate time."
Husky snorted as he raised his head to look at Sky. "Unfortunate is an understatement."
If Sky heard him, he didn't acknowledge it. He continued to speak. Jerome raised his head as well, but didn't look at Mitch, he just stared straight at Sky.
"And I apologize for waking you all. It's just that-well-I..." Sky stumbled in his speech. "As you know Team Crafted is the most diverse team in Minecraftia. And as you know the Sky Army is widely known as the leaders and protectors of Minecraftia. So I thought it would be best to discuss the issue at hand with all of you present..."
He looked each of us in the eye, before staring down at his papers.
"There's been an attack."
Well, how was that for a first chapter? I think it came out pretty well. I've always wanted to do something about Team Crafted. So I hope you enjoy!
