"Clark... Clark, wake up!"
Clark cracked open his eyes, the morning sunlight that filtered through the window creating a bright glare his eyes. The only thing that blocked shortly after this was a small blue bird; a blue jay, more specifically. It perched on his chest, staring intently at his face. The corners of it's beak were curved up into a smile. Clark grinned sleepily.
"Good morning Percy. You're up early today" he said, sitting up in his bed. The bird flapped awkwardly up to his head, perching itself on one of his dark horns that stretched towards the back of his head like a gazelle. Clark brushed his orange hair out of his freckled face and blue eyes. "What's the occasion?"
It made a laughing hackle of a noise. "It is the first day we get to go to school! I'm just so excited!" It chittered, before flapping all around the room. "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! We're going to be late if we don't hurry!"
"Are you even dressed?" He asked.
The blue jay stopped on a lamp while a guilty look, wings drooping. "Uuuhhh... Oops?"
"Percy! Stop flapping around and squawking then, you goofball!" He laughed, slipping on a red plaid flannel over his white T-shirt.
"Ok, ok!" The bird swooped off the light and transformed into a young, slim boy around the age of twelve. His black hair fluffed around his face and small horns that resembled a goat's. His emerald green eyes glimmered with energy, along with the third eye, placed between his eyes. The whole outdoors seemed to get louder than before.
"Percy your eye. Now hurry, hurry! I'll make breakfast." Percy closed his eye obediently, and everything seemed to go back to a subtle silence. He ushered Percy out of his room, changing into a pair of jeans. Stepping into the bathroom, he swept his hair to the side, avoiding to clip his deer-like ears and horns. He checked his hidden set of eyes (below his actual eyes), and saw that they didn't seem to have an infection or anything. His freckles popped from his pale tone, like bits of paprika were sprinkled on him. He was nervous. School was such a wonderful opportunity to have. Their father and mother weren't around there anymore to mentor them, so at least they can educate themselves thoroughly. He wondered what kind of people he would meet there.
He exited the bathroom, slipping his red shoes on and pouring the both of them cereal. Soon after, Percy dashes out and devours his cereal, milk and cereal being flung everywhere. "Slow down! We have time in the world. Are you ready? For school? To see other people?"
Percy nodded vigorously, his mouth full of food. He swallowed the bite and grabbed his bag. "I'm ready now! Can we go?" He danced on his heels.
Clark walks to the door, picking up his own bag. He would have taken more time to eat, but he just loved seeing his brother this excited. "Sure thing, bro."
