Chapter 32

Anna's P.O.V:

I didn't want to hurt anymore. He was a huge mistake, I was a huge mistake. The concept of "us" was a mistake.

Tears were streaming from my eyes as I typed the message and waited for a reply.

Jack: but...

Me: I don't want to hurt you anymore than I already have. I don't think my heart can take this anymore.

Jack: but your heart can take breaking up with me?

Me: it's for the best.

Jack: please don't do this... don't let something in the past distract you from the present.

Me: something tells me this is always going to be the present. None of this is going to stop, Jack. You have a life in the fast lane and all I want to do is slow down.

Jack: I need you in my life, Anna.

Me: and I need to move on.

I didn't reply back to him. I deleted his messages and deleted his contact.

There was no more us.

Jack's P.O.V:

I fell asleep with nothing but a broken heart. Memories of Anna and I started to flash through my head; the back of the Hollywood sign; the night on the beach, the day at the mall...

It was still beyond me that she just walked out of my life.

I had a feeling that she meant what she said.

Anna's P.O.V:

I woke up to the sound of an alarm clock.

"Anna! sweetheart, get up! first day of senior year!" my mom yelled up to me.

I dragged myself out of bed and started to get ready for the day. I honestly couldn't believe sitting in hell for six hours was starting again.

As my mom drove me to school, I looked out the window stained with water droplets. I felt peaceful and relaxed watching the rain inches away from my face only separated by a thin sheet of glass.

As I walked through Satan's door, I noticed all of my friends standing at their lockers waiting for me.

"Ayeee bitch!" Sarah yelled, running up to me and hugging me.

"I missed you guys so much! even though it was only a week earlier since we were together.." I said making everyone laugh.

"Be a little more late next time! We have 3 minutes to get to homeroom!" Libby yelled, signaling that everyone sprint down the stairs to make it in time.

We all ran through the doorway seconds fore the bell rang.

" Happy first day girls... it's always fun to kick off the year late." Our teacher said. She was smiling, so we knew she was kidding.

we all took our seats and waited for the "Welcome back to school" speech our principle would always give.

All of us would only roll our eyes and laugh as words rang out from the speaker.

"Omg Shawn just texted! He said 'good luck at school today beautiful. not that you need it..' he's too sweet!" Katie exclaimed, not noticing me change seats with Sarah so I wouldn't have to listen to their boyfriend talk.

"annoying, right?" I asked Bella.

"You have no idea.." she replied.

Soon enough the nine periods were over and our first day as seniors was concluded.

"Do you guys want to come over? first day success get-together?!" Bella asked everyone.

we all nodded our heads and we walked to Bella's house.

Phones started buzzing and beeping from every direction.

"Nash is too cute!"

"I miss Matt so much!

"Cam is soooo sweet!!"

Bella and I just exchanged looks and kept walking; a little ahead of everyone else. We talked the whole way.

There were some moments where Bella and I walked in silence. And I have to admit,
