(Newt x Reader)

1: Greenie

I woke up with a massive headache. I coughed for air and I sat up after retrieving it. This thing I'm in is moving fast and I can't stand, it's loud, where am I?! Will I stay here forever? Who am I? Who put me here?!

Then all of a sudden things were quiet and this thing I was in stopped so fast that I fell on my back. Then suddenly a beam of light came into sight and it hurt to look at it.

I blinked a couple of times trying to adjust but then someone came down and startled me.

"It's.. It's a girl" A male said turning to several other males

"Who are you? Where am I? Why can't I remember who I am, let alone anything?!" I started to lose air as I thought of all of this

"It's ok, take deep breaths. Let's get you out of here and talk ok?" This man took out his hand offering to help me up.
"Newt has been injured but he is just able to walk today, He's adjusting to it so give him time. Then he'll be showing you around this place, explaining everything to you. Does that sound nice?" The man was very kind and soft with his words. He's being gental with me as if he's taking care of a baby for the first time
"My names Ably, I'd show you around myself but Minho and I have very important business to attend to. You can walk around but do. Not. Go. Through. Those. Walls. Newt will explain why" Ably was very clear with his words so I nodded. Whatever those walls provide must be very dangerous, I just only got here and I don't want to die not knowing anything.

Time passed. I sat silently on the grass, I picked a mini flower that I found on the grass of this new place I've been taken to. I stare at the little dandelion and thought. So I'm the only girl, Huh?

"Hello there, You must be the new greenie, I'm Newt" I turned to face a man to whom had a big smile on his face
"Sure is odd having a girl here" He chuckled a bit
"So do you remember your name?" This man seemed very kind

"N-no, I cannot remember anything" I told him, he seemed to be full of pity for me

"It happens, your name will come back to you soon but your memories.." He trailed off as he looked at the dandelion I had picked
"Well then, let's start with the tour then shall we? Greenie?"

"Why is it you all call me greenie?" I asked

"It's what we call the newest addition to the maze" He smiled
"Well since your a girl though, we had Gally start on making you your own room, Alby already made up the rules for the boys not to touch you without consent" As he spoke the word maze had echoed in my head

"Maze, what do you mean by maze?" I questioned

"Did I say maze?"

"Yes, "the newest addition to the maze" is what you've said" After saying that I wondered why I had repeated what he had said and felt a bit embarrassed of it

"Hm, I meant the Glade" He froze a bit
"The maze is that" He pointed at the opening of the walls I was told not to go into
"Minho and the others will be thrilled to see a girl to be the newest greenie" He laughed a bit to himself

"Why was I ordered to stay out of there?" I asked

"Well..." He was quiet for a sec then he spoke
"They're called Griever's. Those bloody things have never been seen by anyone but the runners, sadly, most of them didn't make it to tell about it" He sighed out his last words then looked at me with that big smile of his
"Well then, Let's begin the tour shall we?" Newt turned and began to walk, I fallowed.

After the tour these three men ran out of the doors of the maze and into the Glade. They ran passed Newt and I, Newt waited for them to notice and when they did they all stopped to look at me.

"A girl?" An Asian man questioned

"Yes, Minho this is greenie, Greenie this is Minho" Newt smiled. The other two boys stared then smiled

"Welcome to the Glade" They both said with a smile, Minho stared at me unconvinced about something. He seemed to not believe I was here.

"Well, we're gonna go get ready for the ceremony then" Minho ran the direction to the hammocks with the two others following him

"Ceremony?" I questioned

"Something we have for the Greenie's to make them feel at home I guess" He said. I nodded

The ceremony started, I sat silently on a log. Then Newt came up to me and sat down. I noticed he was limping but I ignored the fact.

"Ok then, let me tell you this" He took a sip of a drink he had then pointed at a group

"That's the Tracks-hoes and or the gardeners that there Zart is the keeper of it. Then, over there, Is Minho's group whom go out into the maze to find new clues for us to leave this shucking nightmare. That's Alby, He is the boss around here and pretty much makes up the rules to keep us all together. That's Fry, He cooks our meals. There's Gally who is the keeper of the Builders. Then finally the Med-jacks, Jeff and Clint, our doctors around here"

"Who.. Who are you?" I questioned

"I'm second-in-command to Alby. Meaning if Alby dies I'll be in charge, or if he's not around the Glade that is" He told me

"Do you guys know who put us here at least?" I asked. Newt was quiet for a second

"No, but we call them Creators. I'm sure you can guess why" He looked down. Then I hear a noise. Like a screeching noise loud and clear as day, maybe even a scarier sound than the walls closing.

"What was that?!" I asked Newt

"Grievers"
