Aphmaus pov
Of course. I knew it was a joke.
A cruel joke. How could I be so stupid. And to think I actually thought I liked him, now he just wants to pretend like nothing happened! Ugh. He is so frustrating.
But what if it's not a joke
Shut up brain. I know it is
But why would he say that you're one of his only friends if it was
Because he messes with people that's what he does best
Why would he take up for you and help you up
I don't know can you just shut up so I can get to class
But what if-
"Shut up!" I said out loud accidentally
Katelyn turned around looking at me with an angered face, probably thinking I was talking to her.
"Excuse me" she said
My face heated up as more people started to stare.
"K-Katelyn....I'm sorry, I wasn't talking to you" I squeaked out
"Then who were you talking to?" She says as she raises an eyebrow
"I-I don't know, myself?" I said more like a question than an answer.
At that people started to go back to their own business, upset that there wants going to be a fight.
"Aphmau,are you okay?" Katelyn asks, obviously worried.
"N-no" I mutter softly
"Do you wanna talk about it"
I silently nod my head while tears threatened to fall down my face
"Okay, after school I'll come to your house and we can talk this all out." She States confidently, reassuring me.
"Okay" I say feeling a little better now
"Now lets get to class before we're late" she says and with that we both walk our separate ways to class.

Genes pov
Now it's lunch time and I go sit behind the bleachers to eat. I start to eat my sandwich and Sasha and Zenix come around the corner, as soon as they see me they walk in the other direction.
I sighed, I guess now kitty really is my only friend, my only friend and I have a cherish on her. Good going Gene!
I pull out my phone to text her.
G: hey kitty, how are you
A: don't call me that
G: oh, ok
A: I'm good
G: cool
G: so I was wondering, do you wanna hang out after school today?
A: no, I have plans
G: oh, maybe some other time then?
A: yeah
G: cool
Why was she being so mean, Ughh I blew it! She's still upset that I like her! It makes things too awkward! So awkward that she had to make up an excuse to not be around me. I really do have no friends. I stood up and walked home. I don't care that it's the middle of the day. I'm not in my the mood to finish the school day.

Aphmaus pov
G: hey kitty, how are you
A: don't call me that
G: oh, ok
A: I'm good
G: cool
G: so I was wondering, do you wanna hang out after school today?
A: no, I have plans
G: oh, maybe some other time then?
A: yeah
G: cool
Ughh why was I so mean! I like the name kitty! But I guess he shouldn't call me it anymore because it was all just apart of his joke. I just wanna go home, but I can't cut class.
~Time skip to after school~
I slowly walk home thinking about gene. What if it want a joke and I just blew being friends with him. I haven't seen him since this morning. Katelyn said he wasn't in the class they shared, did he go home after lunch? Did I make him that upset! I'm such a jerk! Ughh why can't anything go right!
Soon enough I realize I'm at my house, I walk inside and go up to my room. I sit in my closet and I start to cry softly. Why does everything have to be so complicated? I sit in the closet for about 20 minutes, then I notice someone walk in and sit next to me.
"Hey Katelyn" I say softly
"Hey Aph" she says
"Thanks for coming over"
"No problem, so what's up, is it a boy because I swear I will pound his face in if he hurts you!"
"Katelyn clam down, and yes, it is a boy"
"Is it gene?"
"Y-yeah"
"I knew he was bad news, where does he live I'll go there right now and he won't know what hit him!"
"Don't hurt him" I yell at Katelyn "I'm sorry" I immediately apologize
"Oh, I don't know you had a thing for him, sorry I'll take it easy"
"Well it doesn't matter because he doesn't have a thing for me" I say still upset
"What do you mean, what about the sleepover?" Katelyn asks, confused
"What about it? It was all a cruel joke" I say about to cry again
"What do you mean?"
"At school today, the first thing he said to me was that he wanted to pretend it didn't happen, he just wanted to mess with me, that's all he's ever wanted to do, he even made me kiss Travis once!"
Katelyn went silent and tears started running down my cheeks
"Are you sure it was a joke"
"Yes"
"Okay, well it's not my place to say but he looked really embarrassed when said he liked you, like I don't know how you could fake your whole face turning into a tomato" Katelyn said
My face got red, what if he does like me
"I think you should ask him, it's the only way to know for sure" Katelyn smiled and stood up "anyways, sorry aph but I gotta go home now, my dad needs help cooking dinner, he's only good with desert" she laughs and leaves
I kept thinking about gene. I will tell him, I just need to figure out how.
