I've made it through two years of high school... only two more to go. I've heard a lot about junior year. But how is it going to be on my turn ? Especially if it is a new school, new people, new environment, new classes... it's a fairly stressful year, so what to expect? Will I be able to fit in? Am I gonna have my own friends?
We are on our way to school in our Mini Cooper black car. The school is 30 minutes away from home. The more we get closer the more I become anxious and my stomach growls in pain. And I feel a bit sick. But I managed to ignore it.
"I cannot wait to get my license." I told mom as she parked in the school parking lot.
"Yeah me too, cause I'm tired of waking up to drive you, I would be sleeping right now." I rolled my eyes at her and opened the door.
"See you." I slammed it behind and head to the entrance.
As I walked through the hallway I caught people looking at me, strangely. I focused on the floor ignoring their oddly stares. I was able to make it to the bathroom. I stayed there until the bell rang. I made sure that no is still in the bathroom and got out. I bumped into the principal."Aren't you Sasha?" He asked unsure.
I nodded.
"Do you know where your class is?"
"I was hoping if you show me where my class is."
"Come with me." I followed him.
"This is your class" he opened it as everyone's attention is on me.
My face turned red from awkwardness. I searched for an empty place and sat. Luckily it was at the end of the class.
You sure know being the new student is stressful, they all surrounded me and asked questions about me.
They were so generous and friendly and awesome. This helped me feel a little more relaxed and less stressed.
Two hours later.
It is time for lunch, we head all to the cafeteria. It was crowded.
"Hey!" A girl came across from me.
"Hey" I smiled.
"Any help?" She generously asked.
"Yeah, if you please" I smiled hopeful.
"Sure, here in school pretend that you are at home, sounds weird but as you get used to it you will figure out on your own." It's like a weight lifted off my shoulder although I didn't understand what she said.
"So this is our table, most of our classmates sit here and eat and some of them they go and stand outside more like couples spot" she laughed.
There is a couple spot in the school?! How is that allowed.
I giggled.I joined them on the table eating silently. After a while a guy sat next to me.
"Hey new girl" he said looking at me closely.
It bothered me.
"Hey" I replied uncomfortable.
"How do you feel so far about the school?"
"Good" all I said.
"What do you think about your classmates, friends, people, me" he laughed.
"Till now its pretty fine." I smiled.
"You really trying to make this conversation end so quickly"
"And you really make people uncomfortable with your questions"
He giggled.
"Ohh okay, see you" he left and sat beside his friends.
Besides, he was not a bad looking guy. He's blonde, big brown eyes and long full eyelashes which every girl dream of having...
At the end of the day I realized that it wasn't that bad maybe people exaggerate about junior year and how hard it is. I told mom everything and she became happy since my first day went well.
