I walked through an open meadow calm but vigilant of all of my surroundings. I'm considered a rogue after I killed my father and turned downed the position of alpha. My brother was next in line as alpha since I turned it down. He exiled me from the pack. He considered me a lost cause. He said there was no purpose of me if I turned down alpha position because of the grieving of the death of my mate.

Of course, he didn't know it was our father that killed her. My father hated me, I was going to proudly except the position of alpha when it came time to it. He murdered my mate so that my brother would take the alpha title when he stepped down as alpha when he got too old, knowing I wouldn't accept it while I was in a eternal spiraling depression caused from the loss of my mate.

Too bad he didn't have the chance to step down and hand it to him. As sickening as it seems, I don't regret giving my brother the alpha title even though it was rightfully mine. The sweet satisfaction of my fathers life slipping away brutally and painfully in the jaws of my wolf was enough for me. Knowing that my fathers final breath is my possession, has more value to me than the alpha title.

My brothers clueless, but I think it's better that way. I know no one will ever look at me the same after the murder of my father. The only consequence I can see in all of this, is being alone for eternity. I couldn't protect my mate. My sweet, sweet Avery.

Gone.

I held her as she took her final breath. It was the most painful thing I've ever endured, there's nothing more for me to fear. Avery made me promise to live my life until it came to its own end, and I will keep that promise to her. All I have left is to keep moving. To survive. To kill when needed, and to find shelter when I need it.

All I carried was a small gym bag with some clothes in it. Considering I can hunt as my wolf, bathe in the river and smell all water sources. I heard a stick crack and I slowly crouched down. I tapped into my wolf senses to see what it was. I smelt the air.

It was a big twelve point buck.

This will fill me up for awhile so I don't have to keep stopping to hunt. I pulled out my hunting knife what I always carry on my waist and got ready to jump. As soon as it figured out I was close, it was too late.

I jumped and grabbed ahold of its neck and wrestled it to the ground. Quickly I took my knife, stabbed it into its neck, and put a deep slit across it. I may not be an alpha, but I'm a born one. I have the strength, and the alpha power like one, it's in my blood.

As I released it's dead limp body to the ground I heard growls around me. One behind me, one flanking my left, and one flanking to my right. Werewolves like me, a small group of rogues looking for an easy meal.

Not going to happen.

I exploded into my gigantic pitch black wolf in seconds. The one behind me jumped at me, but I quickly ducked and ripped his stomach out as he fell with my razor sharp teeth. The other two looked at me in horror.

Must of been their leader.

They bowed their heads in respect showing they wouldn't attack. They both whipped around and sprinted off as fast as they could.

I sighed a wolfy sigh and laid next to my deer. I chowed down on the best meal I've had in weeks. I ate until my stomach was full.

-----------

I know it was a very short chapter, but when I got the idea for this story I was so excited. I just absolutely had to put a chapter up to get it started. This one explains a bit, and some of this information will be used later in the story, so don't forget about it! Next chapter will be up soon, and tons better. Longer as well. Have a wonderful day my darlings! ~
