she looked so happy when she saw it. her amber eyes lit up at the sight of the rose. the rose was purer than ever and by the looks of it, true to what she said, it was made of solid gold. she gasped as she picked it up, not understanding it at all. she wouldn't leave it, so she put it in her purse and left.
the next few days, she was talking to some woman. her hair blonde and short, eyes twinkling blue and a smile as brighter than the sun. Her appeal was always modest, never too over the top, yet never too poor. she wore small glimmering accessories of shining gold.
for two months they met and talked in the coffee shop. it was assumed they met at other places and other times. they seemed so happy, so vibrant and about to live happily together forever. or so josh thought.
because right now he saw the one sad red haired girl with once bright amber eyes, red filled with tears staring at a gold rose. a gold rose not on her table in front of her but on his table in front of him. the rose that meant the red-haired girl's lover had really moved on, after two weeks of not making any contact with her.
the red-haired girl let him know. strongly. then she left and josh never saw her at the coffee shop again.
