Second Afterlife Chapter 4

--------Karin's POV--------

"Dad, how did you know?" I asked the person sitting on the couch. I can't believe that he knew that I have been dating Toshiro.

He sighed, then answered my question, "I saw you guys outside of the door, kissing." I knew it. I knew that he saw me kissing Toshiro. "You still haven't told my when you and Toshiro began dating."

Toshiro decided to take it from there. "Karin and I have been dating for 5 years, Mr. Kurosaki." I nodded my head to show that it was true.

He just shook his head. "So, Karin, you have been dating the Squad 10 Captain, Toshiro HITSUGAYA, for five years, huh." We nodded. I am surprised that he hasn't freaked out and ran over to the huge poster of my late mother. Normally, in this kind of situation, he would run over to the poster, and scream things such as, "Masaki, Karin is growing up so fast" or "Masaki, Karin has a boyfriend."

"Dad, why are you so calm?" I asked him. He just shrugged his shoulders.

"I guess with Ichigo out of the house, I need to start being the head of the family. Ichigo was always the one who was kind of in charge. So now that I am the only guy in the house, I need to take on more responsibility." I respected his words, but I still thought that it was weird that he decided to do this now. I mean, Yuzu is about to go live in the United States, and I am about to go to college.

"OK then." I said to him. "Hey, dad. Can I ask a favor of you?"

He just stared at me. "Of course you can, Karin. You know that I am always here for you." I smiled a thank you to him.

"Well, Ichigo doesn't know about this. Can you keep this a secret from him, please. You know how Ichigo is. He is always protecting me."

"Yes, Karin, I will keep this a secret."

"Thank you so much, Dad. Well since it is about 7:55, I think that Toshiro and I will go talk to Kisuke. Bye." We left and was on our way to Urahara's.
