I stood along side my sail on the dirty and chipped off old dock. The waves crashing against it made it shake as if it was to collapse. Running my finger along the seams of my now ripped sail. The anchor had been thrown backwards on a large wave about 100 miles of shore. I was lucky i even made it back. I looked back to the small back streets of NewYork ahead and walked forth. The lights and talking were as if i was back home in Tokyo. The smells of everything were extremely loud. I looked around noticing a small stitch shop. Believing they may have the correct type of sewing items i may need i entered. Everything, and I mean everything was in english! It was an overload. The woman at the counter looked extremely unamused. "How may i help you?" She said, not looking up from her magazine. "Do you have any of the-" I forgot the English term. I do it alot. "Yarn, i think its called for the sails?" She sighed, making the issue worse. She threw a patch of fabric at me. "If you come in my country, You speak english!" I grabbed the fabric and shot out of the shop back into the large citys air. Not the first time I've been in situations alike with this. Walking back to the pier, i noticed the waves much calmer. The ocean now at a soft state would make this much easier. I left the boat tied to the pier and my anchor down. I lowered my sails and began sowing them back together. A few moments after repairing the sails a large bang came from the bow of the boat. Startled as to what it may be i quicky jumped back onto the pier. My eyes scanning every corner of the boat. Assuming a current had bumped me into the pier and jumped back in correcting the last of my sail. Under the night stars, i felt no need for sleep. Then from atop the pier, i untie the boat and jump in from above. Quickly launched about 20 feet out to sea. The wind was strong enough, blowing my long dark hair out. Now about 30 feet out waves began to kick in. I heard a small creak in the wood. Paranoid i turn around to see two teenagers standing on the back of the ship holding onto a sail post for their lives.
